49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir arrested in LA for resisting arrest, facing court in July as training camp nears.
San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir found himself in hot water Thursday, arrested in Los Angeles on a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest, per the Los Angeles Police Department. The incident unfolded when police responded to a call and spotted Lenoir and another individual, Marcus Cunningham, near double-parked vehicles clogging traffic. Things escalated when officers allegedly spotted a gun in Cunningham’s car, and Lenoir reportedly refused to hand over his car keys, leading to his arrest around 5:30 p.m.
The 49ers issued a brief statement: "We are aware of the matter involving Deommodore Lenoir and are gathering further information." Lenoir, a 25-year-old standout who inked a five-year, $92 million extension in November, now faces a court date in July, awkwardly coinciding with the start of the team’s training camp.
A 2021 fifth-round pick from Oregon, Lenoir has been a defensive force, racking up six interceptions, 26 passes defended, and 265 tackles over four seasons. As this legal hiccup looms, questions swirl about its impact on his season and the 49ers’ defensive lineup.

Lenoir’s key refusal? More like a playbook for a traffic jam! With a $92M contract, you’d think he’d pass the keys faster than a blitzing linebacker. Wonder if he’ll intercept this legal trouble as smoothly as he does on the field?
