German woman Alexandra Hildebrandt, 66, gives birth to her 10th child without fertility drugs, defying odds and highlighting her remarkable health and disciplined lifestyle.

Alexandra Hildebrandt, a 66-year-old woman from Germany, has made headlines by giving birth to her 10th child, Philipp, on March 19. The proud mom, who owns the Wall Museum at Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin, welcomed her new son at Charite Hospital.

It’s worth noting that Hildebrandt had her first child back in 1977 and didn’t slow down—eight of her children were born after she turned 50, all via C-section. Her family includes Svetlana (45), Artiom (36), twins Elisabeth and Maximilian (12), Alexandra (10), Leopold (8), Anna (7), Maria (4), and Katharina (2). Philipp, the youngest, weighed a healthy seven pounds, 13 ounces at birth and spent some time in an incubator.

Hildebrandt revealed that she used no fertility drugs and didn’t face challenges conceiving, which, let’s be honest, is almost as rare as spotting a unicorn in Berlin. She credits her remarkable physical condition for her ability to manage the pregnancy. Professor Wolfgang Henrich, director of the Clinic for Obstetric Medicine at Charite, called her case an "absolute rarity" and praised her physical and mental strength.

In an interview with German newspaper Bild, Hildebrandt expressed her joy, saying she feels "like I’m 35." She also attributed her health to a disciplined lifestyle: eating healthily, swimming for an hour daily, running for two hours, avoiding smoking and drinking, and never using contraception. Some people stick to resolutions for a month; Hildebrandt apparently made hers a lifetime commitment.

Hildebrandt also shared her perspective on societal attitudes toward children, stating, "There is such a tendency to be unfriendly to children. Many people would revise their judgment once they had contact with children. We should encourage people to have more children!"

Dr. Alex Robles, a fertility expert from Columbia University Fertility Center, weighed in on the extraordinary nature of Hildebrandt’s pregnancy. He noted that the odds of conceiving after age 45 are less than 5%, and menopause typically occurs between ages 50 and 55. Robles also emphasized the significant health risks associated with pregnancy at such an advanced age.

While Hildebrandt’s story may leave some of us clutching our coffee cups in disbelief, she seems determined to prove that age is just a number—especially when it comes to expanding her family.

Okay, I’m officially convinced this woman might be superhuman. Having eight kids after 50 without fertility assistance is like winning the lottery eight times in a row. Also, her call to have more children is bold—though some might need a pep talk before signing up for double-digit parenting!
