April Price, a survivor of Stephen Collins' abuse, shares her story in 'Hollywood Demons,' discussing the events, Collins' confession, and the importance of speaking out about trauma.

April Price, who once admired Stephen Collins as a fan, found herself confronting a painful chapter of her past when audio recordings surfaced in 2014 of the actor confessing to sexual misconduct involving underage girls. The recordings, made during a 2012 counseling session, were leaked to TMZ by his estranged wife, shaking the public's perception of the beloved "7th Heaven" star.

Price revealed during an interview with Fox News Digital that she immediately recognized herself as one of the victims described in the audio. "It was an absolute gut punch," Price recalled. "The worst part for me was finding out I wasn’t the only little girl." Her experiences with Collins are detailed in Investigation Discovery’s new series, "Hollywood Demons," hosted by Dr. Drew Pinsky, which revisits notorious scandals in the entertainment industry.

Price, who was 13 at the time, alleged that Collins exposed himself to her multiple times during the summer of 1983 while she was visiting her aunt in Los Angeles. Collins, then a star in "Tales of the Gold Monkey," was her aunt's neighbor. Price described how her initial excitement at meeting the actor quickly turned into discomfort and confusion as his behavior escalated.

During one incident, Price said she asked Collins for help with her Atari game console, only for him to expose himself. She also recounted visiting his home, where he appeared naked under the guise of showing her memorabilia. Despite the disturbing experiences, Price admitted she made excuses for his behavior at the time, explaining, "I didn’t want to offend him. He was a good-looking movie star."

Years later, Price encountered Collins again on a film set in her 20s. She claimed he approached her during a break and apologized for his actions, expressing deep embarrassment and remorse. "At the time, it gave me permission to let it go," Price said. Yet, when Collins later denied being a pedophile in a televised interview with Katie Couric, Price felt compelled to speak out, saying his downplaying of the incidents left her "infuriated."

Collins admitted to inappropriate behavior with three minors in a 2014 statement to People magazine but characterized himself as someone struggling with "exhibitionist urges" and "poor impulse control," rather than a pedophile. The fallout was swift, with "7th Heaven" reruns pulled from cable and Collins losing acting roles. Legal investigations were launched but ultimately halted due to the statute of limitations.

Price, now a mother, explained why she chose to revisit her ordeal publicly, emphasizing the importance of empowering others to share their stories. "I hope people understand that it’s OK to have a voice," she said. "Being able to talk about trauma is empowering." While revisiting the past has been difficult for her, Price sees value in speaking out and hopes her story lends strength to others struggling with similar experiences.

Collins, now 77, has maintained a low profile in recent years. He stated in his 2014 interview that he has been in treatment and religious counseling for two decades and claimed he hasn’t had any "urges" since 1994.

Hollywood’s glittering façade often hides deeply dark truths, and this story is a chilling reminder of that. Price’s bravery in revisiting such a traumatic chapter underscores the importance of breaking the silence surrounding abuse. Collins' statement about 'exhibitionist urges' frankly seems like a poorly veiled attempt at damage control. He might have apologized, but the harm caused echoes far beyond his words.
