Anthony Edwards’ Monster Dunk Turns Heads, But Lakers Level the Series Against Timberwolves

Anthony Edwards put on an absolute show Tuesday night in Los Angeles, delivering a thunderous dunk that left Jaxson Hayes—well, probably wishing he was somewhere else. With the Minnesota Timberwolves down by 15, Edwards caught a pass from Julius Randle, charged the rim, and soared over Hayes in a play that’s bound to get replayed in highlight reels all week. Talk about a poster moment.
But as jaw-dropping as Edwards’ aerial act was, it didn’t translate into a win for Minnesota. Despite his 25 points and six rebounds, the Lakers held firm, taking Game 2 with a 94-85 victory and tying the playoff series at one game apiece.
Luka Doncic led the way for L.A., racking up 31 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists—just one shy of a triple-double. LeBron James wasn’t far behind, adding 21 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists, while Austin Reaves chipped in with 16 points, five rebounds, and five assists. After a shaky Game 1, LeBron said the team focused on what needed fixing and clearly, they meant business.
Lakers head coach J.J. Redick didn’t hold back either. Caught on the TNT broadcast, he lit into his team during a timeout, demanding to know, "What the f---" they were doing. Redick later said it was all about flipping that "urgency button" back on. Sometimes you really do need to yell to get through a playoff lull, I guess.
As for Edwards, he admitted the Lakers’ defense made life tough, noting that they crowded him with multiple defenders whenever he tried to make a move. "I've just got to make my decisions a little quicker, and we’ll be all right," he said, keeping his cool despite the loss.
The series shifts back to Minneapolis for Game 3 on Friday night. If Edwards brings that same energy—and maybe gets a little more help—this showdown could get even more intense. Stay tuned for more high-flying drama.

Anthony Edwards turned Jaxson Hayes into an accidental meme, but the Lakers’ group therapy session (complete with Redick’s colorful pep talk) clearly worked wonders. If the Timberwolves want to bounce back, maybe they should invest in earplugs for the next Redick rant—or just play tighter defense. Playoff basketball: where even the coaches go viral!
