MLB app crashes and glitches frustrated fans on 2025 Opening Day, leaving many unable to watch games despite paying for pricey MLBTV and At-Bat subscriptions.

Opening day of the 2025 MLB season hit a sour note for many fans, thanks to widespread technical issues plaguing the MLB app.

Baseball enthusiasts took to social media to vent their frustration over app crashes and glitches, which left them unable to follow their favorite teams’ games. Imagine paying for a service meant to enhance your fandom experience, only to be greeted by endless error messages—yikes!

At the time the problems started, two games were underway: the New York Yankees’ home opener against the Milwaukee Brewers and the Toronto Blue Jays’ showdown with the Baltimore Orioles. But with several other opening day games scheduled to begin shortly after, fans were left wondering if they'd miss out altogether on the action.

It’s worth noting that many fans shell out significant sums for MLB subscriptions. An MLBTV membership runs $150 annually, while the premium MLB At-Bat subscription—which includes live radio broadcasts—costs $29.99 per year. Given those price tags, you’d think flawless functionality would be part of the package. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.

MLBTV's fan support team took to social media platform X to address the uproar, stating, "We are aware of this issue and expect a resolution shortly. Sorry for the delay." Well, better late than never, right?

Fox News Digital reached out to MLB for comment but received no immediate response. Meanwhile, fans are left hoping their pricey subscriptions will soon deliver the seamless experience they were promised.

It’s almost ironic that the MLB app malfunctioned on opening day—the one day of the year fans are most eager to tune in. Maybe it’s time for the league to invest a chunk of those hefty subscription fees into app stability. Just a thought!
