House Oversight Committee probes Biden’s physician Kevin O’Connor over alleged cover-up of the former president’s health issues.

Former White House physician Kevin O’Connor faced a closed-door deposition with the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday, as lawmakers dig into questions about President Biden’s health during his term. The committee, led by Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), is probing whether Biden’s inner circle concealed concerns about his physical or mental fitness, with O’Connor’s medical reports under scrutiny for allegedly painting an overly rosy picture.

O’Connor, tight-lipped as he entered, dodged questions about doctor-patient confidentiality and Biden’s mental state. His legal team argues that testifying risks violating medical ethics, potentially jeopardizing his license. Yet, with the White House waiving executive privilege, refusal to cooperate could lead to contempt charges, a point GOP Sen. Roger Marshall, a physician, acknowledged as a delicate balance.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), a vocal progressive, made an unexpected appearance but stayed silent. Comer emphasized the public’s right to transparency, stating, "The President of the United States is the most powerful person in the world. The American people have a right to know the health condition of the president, both physical and mental." He pointed to recent revelations, including a cancer diagnosis and claims from upcoming books, suggesting a cover-up of Biden’s alleged mental decline.

The committee is also chasing testimony from Biden’s close aides, with Anthony Bernthal, described as Jill Biden’s "work husband," already subpoenaed after backing out. Others, like Ron Klain and Steve Ricchetti, may be next. So far, only Neera Tanden, former Domestic Policy Director, has been interviewed, revealing little about who authorized key decisions.

The investigation raises broader questions about trust in leadership. If glowing health reports masked deeper issues, what does that say about the systems keeping the public informed?

So, Biden’s doctor walks into a deposition, and it’s like a check-up for transparency—except the patient’s the truth, and the prognosis? Murky at best. Comer’s playing Sherlock, but will O’Connor spill the pills or keep the chart sealed? Here’s a joke: Why’d the doctor dodge the questions? Because his prescription for answers was written in invisible ink!
