Bill Belichick makes waves at UNC by landing four-star wide receiver Adrian Wilson from Colorado, bolstering his roster with key transfers for his first season.
Bill Belichick is already making some noise in college football, pulling off a high-profile recruiting coup for his first season as head coach at North Carolina. The Tar Heels just landed four-star wide receiver Adrian Wilson, who had originally planned to play for Deion Sanders at Colorado.
Wilson, ranked 32nd among wideouts in the 2025 class, announced his decision to transfer to UNC, joining Belichick's much-anticipated Chapel Hill debut. After entering the transfer portal on Wednesday, Wilson quickly became a top target for Belichick, who wasted no time snapping him up.
Belichick and his staff seem laser-focused on building a powerhouse through the transfer portal. Earlier this week, they also added linebacker Mikai Gbayor, who previously played for Nebraska and Missouri. And thanks in part to Belichick's son, Steve—formerly Washington’s defensive coordinator—UNC has welcomed three ex-Washington Huskies defenders: linebacker Khmori House, cornerback Thaddeus Dixon, and safety Peyton Waters.
Wilson, a Texas native, originally signed with Colorado in December after an early verbal commitment to Arizona State. He even enrolled early at Colorado, but college football is a wild ride these days—one minute you’re a Buffalo, and the next you’re a Tar Heel. Can’t say the transfer portal is boring, that’s for sure.
UNC’s quarterback situation is still up in the air, and it’s clear Belichick isn’t finished retooling his roster. South Alabama’s Gio Lopez has been mentioned as a possible addition at QB, a position Belichick is expected to upgrade for next season’s campaign.
Meanwhile, Deion Sanders and Colorado are already looking to reload as their stars, Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, are projected first-round picks in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay. The college football carousel just keeps on spinning—hold onto your hats!

Belichick is barely unpacked at Chapel Hill and already shaking up the transfer market—honestly, if the NCAA had a fantasy draft, he’d be the first GM off the board. Wild how the transfer portal now feels more like the trading floor on Wall Street than college sports.
