Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's legal battle escalates as both sides trade harsh accusations of defamation, retaliation, and harassment, with a high-profile trial set for 2026.

The legal feud between Hollywood stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has hit a new level of intensity. Lively recently filed a motion to dismiss Baldoni's lawsuit, which accuses her of retaliation and defamation. Baldoni's legal team, however, was not holding back in their response, calling her move an "abuse of the legal system."

Bryan Freedman, Baldoni's lawyer, had some choice words for Lively, stating, "Ms. Lively's recent motion to dismiss herself from the self-concocted disaster she initiated is one of the most abhorrent examples of abusing our legal system." He added that the law exists to protect the innocent, not to be "twisted and curated by privileged elites to fit their own personal agenda." Ouch.

Freedman also accused Lively of "pure malice" in her actions and claimed her allegations of harassment and retaliation would crumble under evidentiary proof as the case proceeds. Meanwhile, Lively's team struck back, accusing Baldoni of using his $400 million lawsuit as a public relations weapon to tarnish her reputation. They labeled his actions as part of a "sinister campaign" against her.

The drama began when Baldoni filed a lawsuit against Lively, alleging that she had falsely accused him of sexual harassment during the filming of the movie "It Ends With Us." Lively later countered with her own set of allegations, including claims of sexual harassment, retaliation, and emotional distress. In a recent court filing, her legal team argued that California law protects victims who speak out against harassment, making Baldoni's claims legally invalid.

Adding fuel to the fire, Lively's amended complaint included testimony from two female cast members who reportedly witnessed Baldoni's "unwelcome behavior" on set. Baldoni's lawyer dismissed these claims as "unsubstantial hearsay." Both parties have firmly rejected the idea of settling the case out of court, with a trial scheduled to begin in 2026. So, buckle up—this legal battle may stretch longer than some Hollywood marriages.

Lively's team also called out Baldoni's camp for failing to file their own motion to dismiss, suggesting that they lacked any real legal grounds to counter her claims. They further accused Baldoni and his collaborators of turning the courtroom into a PR battleground. "In short, nothing in the FAC [first amended complaint] resembles an actionable legal claim," read Lively's motion.

The stakes are high, with Lively's lawyers seeking to not only dismiss Baldoni's lawsuit but also impose punitive damages and attorney's fees against him and his collaborators. If this case were a movie, it'd be one heck of a courtroom drama, complete with fiery accusations and jaw-dropping counterclaims.

This legal saga is starting to look less like a courtroom battle and more like a reality TV show. Both sides are throwing verbal punches like it's a high-stakes grudge match, complete with accusations of 'sinister campaigns' and 'self-concocted disasters.' While the legal arguments are serious, you can't help but notice the theatrical flair—Hollywood, after all, can't resist a bit of drama, even in court.
