House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer is turning up the heat, demanding that former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and three other key Biden aides testify about an alleged cover-up of former President Joe Biden’s mental decline. Comer’s letters, sent Friday, target Jean-Pierre, former chief of staff Jeff Zients, former deputy press secretary Andrew Bates, and former special assistant Ian Sams, calling them to appear for transcribed interviews. This probe digs into claims that senior White House officials hid Biden’s condition and possibly issued unauthorized executive actions, including sweeping pardons, without his full consent.

Comer’s investigation zeros in on who was really calling the shots in Biden’s inner circle. He’s particularly skeptical of Jean-Pierre’s past claims dismissing Biden’s decline as ‘cheap fakes’ or ‘misinformation.’ The chairman argues that if staff orchestrated a long-term strategy to mask the president’s condition, Congress might need to step in with legislative fixes. Interview dates are set for late August and early September, with a July 4 deadline for the officials to comply voluntarily—or face subpoenas.

The probe expands on earlier subpoenas to Biden’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, and Anthony Bernal, a senior advisor to the first lady, who both declined voluntary appearances.
