Conor McGregor teases a run for President of Ireland, opposing the EU Migration Pact and criticizing the Irish government after meeting Donald Trump at the White House.
Conor McGregor, the fiery UFC fighter known for his bold personality, seems to be eyeing a new title—President of Ireland. In a fiery Instagram post, McGregor hinted at a run for the presidency, following his visit to the White House where he met with former U.S. President Donald Trump.
McGregor voiced his strong opposition to the EU Migration Pact, which Ireland is set to fully implement by June 12, 2026. He declared, "Who else will stand up to Government and oppose this bill?… I will!" He called on Irish citizens to support him, asserting, "It is the people of Ireland's choice! Always! That is a true democracy!"
Painting a vision of a future under his leadership, McGregor added, "All citizens of Ireland to have a voice and a choice on their future! God bless our people. Vote McGregor and have your voice heard!" The fighter-turned-political hopeful seems ready to take on the Irish government, which he accused of abandoning its people. "Our government has long since abandoned the voices of the people of Ireland, and it's high time that America is made aware of what's going on in Ireland," McGregor said during his White House appearance. He described the state of Irish governance as a "travesty" marked by "zero action and zero accountability."
In September, McGregor had already teased his political ambitions, calling himself the "only logical choice" for Ireland's presidency. His recent visit to the U.S. came just days after Ireland’s Prime Minister Micheál Martin met with Trump in the Oval Office, perhaps sparking McGregor’s latest declarations.
While McGregor’s fighting career has always been intense and theatrical, his political aspirations seem to carry the same flair. Whether the people of Ireland will buy into his vision remains to be seen, but one thing's for sure—McGregor knows how to keep the spotlight firmly on him.

Well, if there’s one thing McGregor excels in, it’s showmanship. From the octagon to the political stage, he’s doubling down on making his mark. The irony of him borrowing Trump’s playbook—complete with bold declarations and public rallies—is not lost here. But honestly, can you imagine those presidential debates? They’d be pay-per-view gold.
