Country music star Craig Morgan has been vocal about his admiration for the Trump administration, crediting it with reigniting a sense of patriotism and pride in America. In a recent interview, the 60-year-old musician, who is currently touring with Blake Shelton and promoting his new EP "American Soundtrack," shared his thoughts on the administration’s impact on morale, particularly within the military.
"I'm already seeing the changes that I'd love to see," Morgan remarked. "The biggest thing is the pride in our nation." His words reflect a broader optimism about the administration’s policies, which he believes have boosted confidence in both the economy and national security. According to Morgan, "If we are not a secure nation, all of the other things don't matter." A fair point—security is the bedrock of everything else, after all.
As a man who served in the United States Army for over a decade, Morgan knows a thing or two about pride and humility. He described military service as "the only occupation in the world where pride and humility are so perfectly balanced." His military career, spanning from 1989 to his recent re-enlistment in 2023, includes serving in Operation Just Cause in Panama and two deployments to Iraq during the Gulf War. Even after transitioning to his music career, Morgan remained deeply connected to his military roots, often blending the two worlds.
In July 2023, Morgan made headlines when he re-enlisted in the Army Reserve at the age of 59, a move he celebrated publicly on the Grand Ole Opry stage. Reflecting on the moment, Morgan said, "To remarry both of those lives, my music and my military, on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry was a very special thing." Talk about a full-circle moment—it’s like the ultimate encore in life!
Aside from his service, Morgan has also been active in humanitarian efforts, working with organizations like Exodus Road to combat human trafficking and collaborating with the USO. His dedication has earned him accolades like the Army’s Outstanding Civilian Service Medal and the USO Merit Award.
Musically, Morgan’s new EP, "American Soundtrack," is a heartfelt ode to themes of God, family, and country. "It's a reflection of music and how it's impacted our lives," he explained. The project, featuring five co-written tracks, seeks to resonate with audiences through relatable and meaningful storytelling. Morgan also joined Blake Shelton’s 2025 "Friends & Heroes" tour, which features other country stars like Trace Adkins and Deana Carter. For Morgan, touring with Shelton is as much about camaraderie as it is about performing. "We don’t get to see each other as often as people might think," he said. "It’s exciting to know we’ll get to hang out every day."
As Morgan continues to juggle his dual passions for music and service, his message remains consistent: pride, humility, and a deep love for his country. Whether on stage or in uniform, Craig Morgan is a testament to how one man can wear many hats (or helmets) and still stay true to his roots.

Craig Morgan’s story is a fascinating blend of patriotism and artistry. His ability to seamlessly transition between military service and country music stardom is almost cinematic. But what really caught my attention was his re-enlistment at 59—most people aren’t picking up Army fatigues at that age! It’s a rare example of someone walking the talk, whether it’s about service or the pride he so passionately believes in. And honestly, the idea of balancing pride and humility? That’s a life lesson we could all take to heart.
