Democrats celebrate Kilmar Abrego Garcia's return to the U.S., citing constitutional rights, despite serious human trafficking and gang-related charges awaiting him in Tennessee.

In a surprising turn of events, Democratic lawmakers are hailing the return of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia to the United States as a victory for constitutional rights. Sen. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland, a leading voice in this cause, emphasized that this isn’t about the individual but about upholding due process. "This is about the rights of all, not just one man," Van Hollen declared, pointing to what he sees as a long-overdue compliance with court orders after months of resistance from the previous administration.

Abrego Garcia, 29, faces serious charges in Tennessee, including conspiracy to transport illegal aliens for profit. Prosecutors allege he orchestrated a sprawling operation moving undocumented immigrants from Texas to other states. Beyond that, accusations tie him to the notorious MS-13 gang and even domestic violence, as per court filings by his wife. Yet, despite this dark cloud of allegations, his return has become a rallying point for many Democrats who argue his deportation to El Salvador earlier this year violated his rights.

Van Hollen was among the first to visit Abrego Garcia in a high-security prison in El Salvador, joined by other Maryland Democrats like Rep. Glenn Ivey, who also traveled there to push for his return. Ivey recently framed this case as part of a broader crisis, urging continued attention to those wrongfully detained abroad. Maryland Gov. Wes Moore echoed the sentiment, praising federal efforts to ensure the rule of law prevails. "Today, due process won," Moore stated, underscoring the importance of a fair trial.

However, not everyone is celebrating. Maryland’s sole Republican congressman, Rep. Andy Harris, blasted the decision as a misuse of taxpayer money, questioning the logic of bringing back a deported individual only to house him in U.S. jails for trial, likely followed by another deportation. The debate rages on, with Abrego Garcia now set to face the American justice system—a system some say he’s already gamed for far too long.

Well, folks, it seems the Democrats have found their new poster child for 'due process' in Kilmar Abrego Garcia. I guess if you’re accused of running a human trafficking ring, just wait for the right politician to turn your rap sheet into a rights crusade. Is this a win for justice, or are we just smuggling irony across state lines now? I’m betting Abrego Garcia’s next move is a book deal titled 'How to Travel Back to the U.S. for Free.'
