This shift comes after months of sharp criticism from party members who branded Musk a 'dictator' and 'fascist' for his aggressive cuts to federal spending and fraud during his tenure in the Trump administration.

California Rep. Ro Khanna took to X, saying, 'If Biden had a big supporter criticize him, Trump would have hugged him the next day.' Khanna urged Democrats to align with Musk’s values, like science funding and clean tech, to win him over. New York Rep. Ritchie Torres echoed this, noting, 'I’m a believer in redemption,' and praising Musk for calling out flaws in the sweeping legislation.
