President Trump threatens severe penalties for Tesla vandalism, labeling attacks as domestic terrorism. FBI investigates, Democrats largely silent, while some lawmakers condemn violence against Tesla properties.

President Donald Trump has taken a hardline approach against recent acts of vandalism targeting Tesla properties. In a fiery post on Truth Social, Trump announced that perpetrators, including those funding these attacks, could face up to 20 years in prison. "WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU!!!" he warned, leaving little room for ambiguity.

The attacks, which include arson and vandalism at Tesla showrooms, charging stations, and vehicles, have escalated in recent months. The FBI has launched a task force to address these incidents, which Attorney General Pam Bondi has labeled as "domestic terrorism." Several suspects have already been charged in connection with these violent acts, some of which involve the use of Molotov cocktails.

Despite the severity of the situation, Democrats who have previously championed anti-domestic terrorism legislation remain conspicuously silent. Fox News Digital reached out to 13 Democratic lawmakers who were vocal about combating domestic terrorism in the past, but none responded to inquiries about whether they agree with Bondi's characterization of the Tesla attacks as domestic terrorism.

It's worth noting that Democrats have historically been at the forefront of addressing domestic terrorism. The Biden administration, for example, introduced the National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism in 2021, and Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., sponsored the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act. But when it comes to Tesla, a company led by Elon Musk—a known Trump ally—there seems to be a peculiar silence.

While most Democrats have avoided commenting, Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., has taken a refreshingly direct stance, condemning the vandalism outright. "Spraying the words 'nazi cars' or lighting fire to dealerships and chargers is wrong. Period," he stated on social media, urging his colleagues to denounce such actions.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., also weighed in, stating that while people have the right to protest, "No one has the right to engage in any form of violence, period." However, his remarks fell short of addressing whether these acts qualify as domestic terrorism.

Adding fuel to the fire, Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, recently made controversial remarks during a call with the "Tesla Takedown" movement, expressing a desire to see Musk "taken down" on her birthday. Bondi responded sharply, warning Crockett to "tread very carefully."

The vandalism spree, which spans at least 10 locations from Oregon to Massachusetts, appears to be part of a broader organized effort. An anti-Musk website, registered earlier this month, features an interactive map with Tesla-related targets and personal information about Tesla owners. Bondi has made it clear that the Department of Justice is determined to hold not just the perpetrators but also their financiers accountable.

As the drama unfolds, it’s hard to ignore the political undertones. Democrats who once championed anti-terrorism measures now appear hesitant to address this issue head-on, possibly due to Musk's political affiliations. Meanwhile, Trump’s administration is aggressively pursuing justice, signaling that acts of vandalism will not go unpunished.

It’s fascinating—and a bit ironic—how some lawmakers who were once so vocal about domestic terrorism are now silent when the target is a company tied to Elon Musk. Political convenience much? Also, Crockett’s 'birthday wish' feels like a tone-deaf moment in a very serious situation. Maybe next year, wish for world peace instead?
