James Hewitt, Princess Diana's former lover, recently shared his thoughts on the well-documented rift between Prince William and Prince Harry. Hewitt, who had an affair with Diana during her marriage to King Charles III, appeared on "Good Morning Britain" to discuss his humanitarian work with Operation Safedrop in Ukraine.

During the interview, the topic shifted to the ongoing tension between the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex. Host Richard Madeley inquired whether Diana could have facilitated a reconciliation between her sons.

Hewitt responded, "I think any mother would be worried and concerned about such a rift… And she'd do her best to try and get them together."

Hewitt met Diana in 1986, offering her horseback riding lessons, which led to a multi-year affair. His comments follow those of former palace aide Jason Knauf, who spoke to "60 Minutes Australia" about the brothers' strained relationship. Knauf noted the difficulty of the situation playing out publicly, adding that William has chosen to keep his thoughts private.

Reports suggest the brothers' relationship began deteriorating around 2016, with William expressing concerns about the speed of Harry's relationship with Meghan Markle. This reportedly caused friction between the two.

Harry and Meghan married in 2018 and later stepped back as senior royals in 2020, relocating to California, citing media intrusion and racist attitudes. Since then, the brothers have only reunited a few times, reportedly avoiding each other at a memorial service in August.

Sources claim Harry's attempts to connect with his father, King Charles III, and William have been unsuccessful. In his memoir, "Spare," Harry detailed a 2019 argument where William allegedly called Meghan "difficult" and "rude," leading to a physical altercation. He also recalled King Charles pleading with his sons to reconcile after Prince Philip's funeral in 2021.

While promoting "Spare," Harry acknowledged his mother would be "sad" about the tension with his brother, hoping for long-term healing.

The persistent rumors about Hewitt being Harry's biological father were also addressed. Richard Dalton, Diana's hairdresser, dismissed the speculation as "not possible," emphasizing the Spencer family's red hair trait. Dalton, who also mentioned Diana's distress over the rumors, clarified that Harry was born two years before Diana met Hewitt.

Dalton recalled Diana's initial riding lessons with Hewitt, noting her lack of interest in horses. He believed Diana was "longing to be truly loved" and that Hewitt's affair occurred during a vulnerable time in her marriage. Dalton criticized Hewitt's "tell-all book," suggesting the relationship was a conquest rather than love, and that Charles was the true love of her life.

Okay, so Hewitt chiming in now? It's like everyone who ever knew Diana is writing a tell-all or giving their two cents. I get it; it's a juicy story. But at this point, let the princes sort it out themselves, right? It's their family drama, not a reality show.

And honestly, the paternity rumors are so old. Can we just let that die already? It's tiresome and disrespectful to everyone involved. Let's move on to something more substantial, people.

Editor's Comments

This ongoing saga between William and Harry is like a never-ending soap opera. While Hewitt's comments add another layer, it's crucial to remember that he's speaking from a place of past involvement. The real story here is the brothers' journey toward reconciliation, if that's even possible.
