Sean 'Diddy' Combs spends Memorial Day in jail with card games and sports, as his sex crimes trial reveals explosive testimony from Cassie and others.

Sean "Diddy" Combs marked Memorial Day 2025 not in a courtroom, but in the confines of Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, where he’s been held since his September arrest. The music mogul, facing serious charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and prostitution-related offenses, got a brief pause from his ongoing trial as New York City courthouses closed for the holiday. If convicted, Diddy faces a minimum of 15 years or possibly life in prison, but he maintains his innocence.

Inside the jail’s 4 North corridor, Diddy shares a dormitory-style unit with 20 other inmates. The facility rolled out a holiday lineup of activities to keep the mood light—think spades, dominoes, and 3-on-3 basketball or soccer tournaments. Meals were standard but festive: breakfast included cereal and a breakfast cake, while lunch offered barbecue chicken, macaroni and cheese, and a holiday dessert. Dinner? A choice of chicken or tofu with rice and pinto beans.

The trial, which kicked off May 12, has already brought explosive testimony. Cassie Ventura, Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, took the stand alongside rapper Kid Cudi and former Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard. Kid Cudi claimed Diddy broke into his home and torched his car over a past relationship with Cassie, though no hard evidence backed the story. Meanwhile, a male exotic dancer, Sharay Hayes, testified that his encounters with Cassie, arranged by Diddy, were consensual, a point Diddy’s defense emphasized. Cassie’s mother, Regina Ventura, and friend Kerry Morgan also testified for the prosecution, while expert Dr. Dawn Hughes explained why someone might stay in an abusive relationship.

As the trial unfolds, the case continues to expose the complex layers of Diddy’s world, with each witness adding fuel to a fire that’s far from burning out.

Diddy’s swapping stages for spades this Memorial Day—guess even behind bars, he’s still trying to deal a winning hand. But with Cassie’s testimony and Kid Cudi’s car-fire claims, the real game’s in the courtroom, and the stakes are higher than a Brooklyn basketball tourney. Wonder if Diddy’s practicing his defense or his jump shot?
