Lawmakers push Energy Choice Act to override state bans, boost U.S. energy production, and ensure affordable power for all.
In a bold move to unshackle America’s energy potential, lawmakers are rallying behind the Energy Choice Act, a bipartisan effort to curb state-level restrictions that stifle domestic energy production. Spearheaded by West Virginia’s Sen. Jim Justice and Rep. Nick Langworthy (R-N.Y.), the bill aims to ensure reliable energy sources—coal, natural gas, you name it—flow freely across state lines, boosting what President Trump calls American energy dominance.
Sen. Justice, hailing from coal-rich West Virginia, knows the stakes. “We can’t let blue-state bans choke out our energy future,” he told WTFNewsRoom. He’s pushing to stop states like New York, where Democrats have blocked development of the Marcellus Shale gas deposit for over a decade, from dictating the nation’s energy choices. Meanwhile, states like Pennsylvania and Ohio tap into this massive resource, leaving New Yorkers with sky-high energy bills.
Langworthy, no stranger to New York’s regulatory stranglehold, calls it an extremist crusade by the so-called climate cult. “They’re pushing families toward blackouts to appease eco-fantasies,” he said. The bill, backed by 37 co-sponsors, would bar states from restricting energy sources sold in interstate commerce, giving Americans the freedom to choose affordable power.
From Alabama’s coal-heavy Black Warrior Basin to West Virginia’s mines, supporters like Sen. Shelley Moore Capito and Sen. Tommy Tuberville argue energy security is national security. “We’re done with woke regulations hammering working families,” Tuberville quipped. With Gov. Kay Ivey streamlining Alabama’s energy permits, the momentum is clear: America’s energy engine is ready to roar.

Looks like the 'climate cult' forgot that light bulbs don’t run on good intentions. While New York dreams of windmills, West Virginia’s coal keeps the grid humming. Here’s a joke: Why did the shale gas go to therapy? It was tired of being fracked over by blue-state politics!
