Sen. John Fetterman faces another staff departure as chief of staff Krysta Sinclair Juris exits, amid scrutiny over his health and bipartisan stances.
Sen. John Fetterman’s office is facing yet another shakeup as his chief of staff, Krysta Sinclair Juris, reportedly plans to exit, marking the latest in a string of departures since the Pennsylvania Democrat took office in 2023. Fetterman, known for his unorthodox approach and willingness to break ranks with his party, sidestepped questions about the turnover, pointing instead to colleagues with even higher staff churn. “Have you spoken to my colleagues with much higher turnover?” he quipped to reporters, before slipping into an elevator.
The senator’s office has been under scrutiny, with recent reports raising concerns about his health and occasional absence from key votes. Juris, who joined as chief of staff in April 2024, follows other exits, including two aides last month and his deputy chief of staff and communications director in February. Politico reports Cabelle St. John will step into the chief of staff role.
Fetterman’s maverick streak has made waves in Washington. He’s clashed with Democrats on issues like Israel and immigration, arguing his party has lost ground on both. At a recent bipartisan forum with Sen. David McCormick, moderated by Fox News’ Shannon Bream, Fetterman acknowledged the “punitive” pushback for his centrist leanings. “It’s getting harder to find common ground,” he said, underscoring the challenges of his bipartisan approach.
Despite the staff turnover and controversies, Fetterman remains a polarizing yet compelling figure, unafraid to challenge the status quo while navigating the complexities of Senate life.
