Former Navy SEAL Bill Berrien announces GOP run for Wisconsin governor, promising to revive manufacturing and challenge Democratic policies.

In a bold move to steer Wisconsin into a new era, Bill Berrien, a former Navy SEAL turned manufacturing executive, has thrown his hat into the ring for the Republican gubernatorial race. Announced on Wednesday, Berrien positions himself as a political outsider ready to challenge the status quo and reverse what he calls the 'gears in reverse' under Democratic Governor Tony Evers.

Berrien didn’t mince words when discussing Evers’ tenure, labeling him a 'tax and spend' Democrat who has stalled the state’s progress. 'We’ve got to get away from these six years of going in the wrong direction,' Berrien emphasized in an exclusive interview. His vision? To make this the 'Wisconsin century' by reclaiming the state’s manufacturing dominance and aligning with broader national efforts to re-industrialize America.

Drawing parallels to President Donald Trump, whose recent win in Wisconsin helped secure the White House in 2024, Berrien sees himself as a business-minded leader ready to 'take back Madison for Wisconsinites.' He highlighted Trump’s trade and tariff policies as a blueprint for revitalizing local industries. 'Wisconsin is the best of the country—we build things, we work with our hands,' he said, envisioning the state as the epicenter of a manufacturing renaissance.

Berrien’s priorities include strengthening families, restoring law and order, and leveraging business incentives to boost factory expansion. He even likened current economic policies to a 'Black Friday sale for factory growth—no coupons required.' As CEO of Pindel Global Precision and Liberty Precision, he brings firsthand experience to the table, paired with a military mindset from his nine years as a Navy SEAL. He’s determined to apply that discipline across all 72 counties to secure a Republican win.

With Evers yet to confirm a re-election bid for 2026, and other Republican contenders like Washington County Executive Josh Schoemann already in the race, the battle for Wisconsin’s future is heating up. Berrien, however, remains confident, pointing to a team with proven success in statewide races as his edge. 'We have the resources, the team, and a clear opportunity,' he asserted.

Well, folks, Bill Berrien is charging into this race like a Navy SEAL on a mission—except this time, the battlefield is Wisconsin’s political swamp. His 'Wisconsin century' pitch sounds grand, but can he really turn Madison into a manufacturing mecca, or is this just another politician promising to build castles in the air? And here’s a thought: if Berrien’s calling Evers’ policies 'gears in reverse,' I wonder if he’s got a gearshift up his sleeve—or just a shiny campaign bumper sticker. Let’s hope his military mindset doesn’t turn every county into a boot camp!
