Gavin Rossdale launches 'Dinner with Gavin Rossdale,' a home-based cooking show allowing him to balance music, parenting, and celebrity guests. Now streaming on VIZIO's WatchFree+.
Gavin Rossdale, the Bush frontman, has made some significant career tweaks to ensure he's present for his four kids. In a recent interview, Rossdale explained that his new cooking show, "Dinner with Gavin Rossdale," stemmed from his desire to work from home and stay close to his family. The show premiered on February 13 on VIZIO's WatchFree+ streaming service.
"My show came about because I really wanted to stay home and not have to travel," Rossdale shared. Living with his three sons half the time, he felt it was "crazy" to always be on the road while trying to be a hands-on dad. "I had to try and have a job you can just do from home," he added.
Rossdale shares sons Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo with ex-wife Gwen Stefani, and his eldest daughter, Daisy Lowe, with Pearl Lowe. While reflecting on his career, Rossdale admitted the show was also an opportunity for him to find a voice outside the band. "I've had a lot of success but not much voice. I felt bizarrely voiceless unless I was singing a song," he confessed.
The musician also revealed his mixed feelings about his kids following in his musical footsteps. "I'm terrified for them," Rossdale admitted, noting how much the industry has changed. His eldest, Daisy, has ventured into fashion consulting, but his sons Kingston and Zuma are already surpassing him in guitar skills. "It's kind of annoying, to be honest," he joked. "They seem to have more time to practice than I do, and they’re getting really good."
Despite his concerns, Rossdale emphasizes the importance of encouraging his kids to take risks and step outside their comfort zones. He shared a touching memory of his youngest son, Apollo, sitting down while he cooked dinner and belting out five songs. "It's really, really incredible," he said with pride.
The format of "Dinner with Gavin Rossdale" is simple yet intimate. Set in his Los Angeles home, Rossdale personally cooks a three-course meal for celebrity guests like Serena Williams, Common, Selma Blair, and Brooke Shields. Conversations flow naturally around the table, making the show feel less like a production and more like a genuine gathering. Speaking of Shields, Rossdale praised her wit and intelligence, calling her "whip-smart" and "incredibly approachable."
While Rossdale admits he doesn’t have the secret to successful co-parenting, he’s navigating it the best he can. "Call me when you find the secret," he quipped when asked about co-parenting dynamics.
For fans eager to see Rossdale in this new light, "Dinner with Gavin Rossdale" is available to stream for free on VIZIO’s WatchFree+.

Gavin Rossdale pivoting from rock star to home chef is the kind of plot twist I didn’t see coming, but honestly, it's heartwarming. The idea of him cooking meals while keeping his kids close feels so refreshingly normal for a celebrity. And can we talk about how his kids are out-guitaring him? That’s got to sting a little, even for a rock legend!
