Glen Powell addresses rumors about his relationship with Sydney Sweeney after she attended his sister’s wedding, emphasizing their friendship and her focus on career projects.

Glen Powell, known for his role in "Top Gun: Maverick," gracefully dodged the swirling rumors about his relationship with Sydney Sweeney after her attendance at his sister's wedding over the weekend in Dallas, Texas. The reunion of the "Anyone But You" co-stars reignited speculation about their connection, which has been the talk of the town since the filming of their rom-com.

Powell addressed the rumors on "Today with Jenna & Friends," saying, "Timing is everything in this world, isn’t it? She and Syd are obviously great friends, and it was a hell of a wedding. The Powells know how to do it right." He added that it was a "fun, rowdy wedding"—a sentiment that seems to be a nod to his family's knack for throwing memorable celebrations.

Although Powell wasn't the best man, he was chosen to give a speech, jokingly attributing the honor to being the "lowest liability in the family." He even dubbed himself the "master of ceremonies"—and honestly, who wouldn't want to own that title at a family event?

Aside from wedding festivities, Powell and Sweeney spent time around Texas, dining at Joe Leo Fine Tex-Mex restaurant and Hudson House, joined by actor John Stamos, who also reportedly attended the wedding.

Despite lingering romance rumors—particularly after Sweeney reportedly ended her engagement with Jonathan Davino—an insider has firmly stated, "There is nothing going on romantically between Glen and Sydney. They are just friends. Sydney is close with the entire family." The source also noted that Sweeney had RSVP’d months ago and brought along one of her girlfriends as a guest.

Powell and Sweeney have been battling speculation since filming "Anyone But You," with their playful chemistry during the press tour feeding the gossip mill. Sweeney previously addressed the rumors during a "Saturday Night Live" monologue, firmly denying any affair and clarifying that her then-fiancé was involved in producing the movie and was present throughout the shoot.

Since then, Sweeney and Davino have called off their engagement, with sources revealing that their relationship had been "rocky for a long time." Sweeney, now single, seems laser-focused on her career, preparing for a new season of HBO's "Euphoria" and diving into several high-profile roles, including a biopic where she'll portray professional boxer Christy Martin and another project as actress Kim Novak.

"She’s exactly where she wants to be," shared a source. "Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She’s all about working right now and very excited about all her projects." And hey, when relationship drama takes the backseat to career success, who can blame her?

You have to admire Powell’s ability to dodge dating rumors like a pro—his charm and humor clearly make him a natural "master of ceremonies" in more ways than one. Also, Sweeney’s focus on her career is such a power move. Maybe Hollywood should take notes: sometimes, the most compelling love story is the one with your work.
