GOP’s Bold Push for Committee to Probe Biden Health Cover-Up Gains Momentum

House Republicans are rallying behind a bold move to launch a new select committee tasked with digging into what they call a deliberate "cover-up" of former President Joe Biden’s cognitive and physical decline. Spearheaded by Rep. Buddy Carter (R-Ga.), the proposed panel aims to uncover the truth behind allegations that Biden’s inner circle concealed critical details about his health from the American public.

The legislation, introduced Thursday, seeks to probe the roles of key figures like former Vice President Kamala Harris, former first lady Jill Biden, and others who may have shielded information, including audio tapes from Special Counsel Robert Hur’s interview with Biden. The committee would also investigate whether Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis was hidden before its recent public disclosure, despite denials from his spokesperson.

"This could be the biggest political scandal of our time," Carter declared, emphasizing the need to restore public trust. The resolution even questions the use of an autopen to sign major legislation, hinting at deeper concerns about who was truly steering the White House during Biden’s tenure.

With co-sponsors like Reps. Mark Alford (R-Mo.), John Rose (R-Tenn.), Derrick Van Orden (R-Wis.), and Barry Moore (R-Ala.), the push is gaining traction. It dovetails with House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer’s ongoing probe into whether Biden’s aides overstepped their authority amid his alleged decline. Comer has already targeted former White House staff, including Biden’s physician, Kevin O’Connor, for answers.

The effort reflects growing Republican scrutiny of Biden’s presidency, fueled by fresh reports and lingering doubts about his mental sharpness—concerns once brushed off but now impossible to ignore. As Carter, a Senate hopeful, put it, Americans deserve clarity on whether their safety was compromised by a faltering leader.
