Gwyneth Paltrow endorses the Make America Healthy Again movement, discussing food safety, wellness trends, glyphosate risks, and the growing push for health reform in America.
Actress and wellness guru Gwyneth Paltrow is turning heads again, this time by expressing her fascination with the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement, spearheaded by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. In her recent Vanity Fair cover story, Paltrow candidly shared her thoughts on the perceived failings of major institutions, stating, "A lot of our institutions are really failing us, and that is this pervasive, sweeping axiom that Americans feel."
She also highlighted the power of consumer choices in driving change, saying, "Consumers shape markets, and people are starting to vote with their wallets on this stuff." Though Paltrow didn’t directly name Kennedy, her comments align with his advocacy for reforms in food and agriculture, including limiting ultra-processed foods and reducing the use of herbicides like glyphosate, which he has linked to cancer.
Paltrow didn’t hold back in her critique of glyphosate, noting, "We spray glyphosate on everything, and it’s a carcinogen, and we have all these lobbyists to keep everything in place." Her comments echo Kennedy’s crusade against harmful chemicals in food production.
The Goop founder also reflected on the stark differences in junk food quality between the U.S. and Europe, saying she recently indulged in peanut M&M’s on a European flight but wouldn’t dare do the same in America. A subtle dig, but a sharp one nonetheless.
While Paltrow refrains from affiliating herself with a specific political party, she emphasizes the broader need for Americans to take their health into their own hands. "Look, we’re all incredibly flawed," she remarked. "I think the leaders’ piece is what makes people think, I’m going to take this research into my own hands and I’m going to try to make the best choices that I can for me and my family."
As someone who’s been in the wellness game since founding Goop in 2008, Paltrow is no stranger to controversy. From "vampire facials" and "energy exorcisms" to rectal ozone therapy, her wellness suggestions have often raised eyebrows. Not to mention the $145,000 settlement Goop paid in 2018 over unscientific claims about vaginal jade eggs. (Yep, you read that right.)
Her Netflix series, "The Goop Lab," faced backlash for its risky health tips, with critics calling some practices "considerable health risks." Yet, Paltrow continues to defend her choices and experiments, even attributing some of her wellness practices to managing her long COVID symptoms.
Paltrow’s health journey began after her father’s cancer diagnosis in 1999, sparking her interest in researching environmental toxins and their links to disease. "And how that was being expressed through disease. And that’s when I started researching whatever I could."
Other celebrities have also rallied around the MAHA movement. Singer-songwriter Jewel performed at the MAHA Inaugural Ball, citing her commitment to mental health advocacy. Meanwhile, Cheryl Hines, Kennedy’s wife, has promoted the movement alongside her eco-friendly self-care company, Hines+Young.
The MAHA movement seems to be gathering momentum, with voices like Gwyneth Paltrow’s lending it star power. Whether you think it’s a revolution or just another celebrity-driven trend, one thing is clear: America’s health is under the microscope, and the conversation is only heating up.

Gwyneth Paltrow has a knack for sparking debates, and this time it’s about health and junk food. Her critique of glyphosate and American junk food quality feels like a bold mic drop moment—but let’s be real, peanut M&M’s probably don’t deserve the same scorn as carcinogenic herbicides. Also, the Goop controversies are a reminder that wellness doesn’t always come wrapped in science.
