ICE arrests over 200 child sex offenders in Houston in 6 months, targeting illegal immigrants in a major crackdown on crime.
In a significant crackdown on crime, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested over 200 child sex offenders in the Houston area over the past six months. These individuals, all illegal immigrants, face charges or convictions for heinous crimes against minors, marking a stark increase from the 211 arrests made throughout the entire 2024 fiscal year.
ICE attributes this surge in arrests to a collaborative, whole-of-government strategy under the current administration. By forming multiagency targeting teams, federal law enforcement has pooled resources to tackle the unprecedented wave of illegal immigration over the past four years. The result? A historic number of violent criminals, gang members, and child predators have been removed from communities.
Acting Field Office Director Paul McBride emphasized the impact of these efforts, stating that while the immigration crisis is far from resolved, the progress in just half a year is substantial. Among the 214 arrested, ICE spotlighted five individuals with prior deportations, showcasing the persistent challenge of repeat offenders. For instance, Jorge Zebra, a 48-year-old Mexican national convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a minor, was deported again on March 24 after his arrest. Similarly, Jesus Gutierrez Mireles, 67, with a record of child assault and multiple deportations, was sent back to Mexico in April.
Other cases include Jose Guadalupe Meza, deported four times, and Sergio Rolando Galvan Guerrero, removed three times, both convicted of child sexual assault. Manuel Antonio Castro-Juarez, currently in custody awaiting his third deportation to El Salvador, rounds out this grim list. These examples underline a critical issue: the revolving door of illegal reentry by dangerous offenders.
This operation sends a clear message—law enforcement is doubling down to protect local communities. As McBride noted, the mission is to make Southeast Texas a safer place for everyone, a goal that remains a work in progress but shows promising strides.

Well, folks, ICE is playing whack-a-mole with child predators in Houston, and they’ve hit over 200 in just six months. But here’s the kicker—some of these bad actors have been deported three, even four times! Are we installing revolving doors at the border now? Maybe it’s time to build a wall... around the paperwork loopholes. Let’s hope this crackdown sticks before Houston turns into a sequel nobody asked for.
