Independent Women's Forum bus egged in Santa Fe during Title IX event with Linda McMahon, highlighting tensions over women’s sports advocacy.

In a bizarre turn of events in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the Independent Women's Forum (IWF) found their custom tour bus under attack—not by critics or protesters with placards, but by eggs. The incident occurred during a stop on their bus tour celebrating the 53rd anniversary of Title IX, a landmark law for gender equality in sports. The bus, proudly adorned with the slogan "HER GAME HER LEGACY" and even bearing personal messages and signatures, including one from U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon, became the target of this unusual vandalism on Monday.

The IWF reported that eggs were hurled at the vehicle, leaving shells littered beneath it and stains on its surface. Victoria Coley, the group’s vice president of communications, didn’t mince words in her response, stating that the act was not just vandalism but a direct act of harassment. She narrowly escaped being hit herself and confirmed that a police report has been filed, with security footage capturing the suspect in action. Coley emphasized the group’s resolve, declaring that such intimidation tactics won’t deter their mission to protect women’s sports and defend sex-based rights across New Mexico’s 33 counties.

Adding to the drama, the event itself faced hurdles before the egging even occurred. A last-minute venue change was forced upon the IWF after the original host site backed out due to ideological disagreements. Yet, the show went on, with powerful speeches from McMahon and former high school volleyball player Payton McNabb, who has become an activist in her own right. McMahon, reflecting on the chaos, noted that while the switch was likely a logistical nightmare for organizers, the event felt seamless to her and was ultimately a success.

This isn’t the first time the IWF’s bus has been targeted. A similar incident unfolded in July 2024 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where vandals defaced the bus with profanity and anti-woman messages. Slogans like "Hate Group" and "Trans women are women" were scrawled across it, revealing the deep tensions surrounding the group’s advocacy. Despite these attacks, the IWF remains unbowed, vowing to continue their fight for female athletes nationwide.

What’s clear is that the road to equality in sports remains a bumpy one—sometimes literally smeared with eggs. But if history teaches us anything, it’s that passion and persistence often outlast petty acts of defiance.

Well, folks, it seems the fight for women’s sports has taken a rather... egg-sasperating turn in Santa Fe. Who knew advocacy could scramble someone’s plans so much that they’d resort to a grocery store assault? Jokes aside, this egging isn’t just childish—it’s a cracked attempt to silence a vital conversation. And honestly, if you’re throwing eggs at a bus with Linda McMahon’s name on it, you’ve got to wonder: are you protesting Title IX or just jealous of her signature wrestling moves?
