JD Vance jokes Kamala Harris’s 'word salads' may be vodka-fueled, critiques her vice presidency, and discusses his relationship with Trump in a candid radio interview.
JD Vance, the current Vice President, didn’t hold back during a recent interview when he humorously suggested that Kamala Harris's infamous "word salads" might be fueled by a few too many shots of vodka. Vance, speaking with radio host Vince Coglianese, made the bold remark while discussing his approach to the vice presidency compared to Harris’s.
"Well, I don’t have four shots of vodka before every meeting," Vance quipped. He then added that Harris’s puzzling responses to questions might require “the help of a lot of alcohol” to replicate. Ouch. If Harris’s past public speaking blunders have earned her headlines, Vance clearly thinks he’s identified the culprit.
Vance went on to speculate about the dynamics between Harris and her former boss, President Joe Biden, suggesting there was a lack of trust between the two. "My sense is that there wasn’t a level of trust between Biden and Harris," Vance shared, though he admitted this was based on "guesswork" as he doesn’t speak with them regularly. He contrasted their relationship with his own rapport with President Trump, mentioning that he feels “empowered” to execute tasks in alignment with Trump’s vision.
Kamala Harris has often been the subject of public scrutiny for her convoluted phrasing, such as her memorable statement, "I grew up understanding the children of the community are the children of the community." That one still has people scratching their heads.
Harris, a former senator from California, is currently represented by CAA Speakers, a firm that handles celebrity speakers. While CAA did not respond to a request for comment, Vance’s spokesperson confirmed the remarks without elaborating further. It seems Harris may not be rushing to address Vance’s vodka theory anytime soon.
In a lighter moment, Vance showed he could take the joke as well as dish it out. He talked about enjoying the internet memes circulating about him, particularly one swapping his face with members of the band Van Halen, dubbed "Vance Halen." "I’m a personal fan of Vance Halen," he admitted, citing his love for the band. Honestly, who doesn’t appreciate a good meme?
Vance’s playful candor, coupled with his jab at Harris, has stirred conversation, proving once again that politics isn’t just about policies—it’s also about personality.

Vance’s vodka remark is definitely a spicy one, though it skirts the line between humor and unnecessary snark. It highlights the fine balance between political jabs and maintaining professionalism. Also, his enjoyment of the memes about himself adds a refreshing touch of self-awareness to his image—something politicians could use more of.
