Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones teases major trades ahead of the NFL Draft, while contract talks with Micah Parsons and recent roster moves generate buzz for fans.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is hinting at something big, telling reporters on Tuesday that he’s been working on "two pretty substantive trades" ahead of this week’s NFL Draft. With the draft just around the corner and Cowboys fans desperate for some fireworks, the stakes are high in Dallas—because let’s face it, their last few offseasons have looked more like a rerun than a blockbuster.

Jones didn’t give away too much during his pre-draft press conference, but with 10 picks in seven rounds, there’s definitely room for some wheeling and dealing. "We’re looking at two things that could happen before or after the draft. Two pretty substantive trades. Been working on today," he announced, turning up the suspense but keeping the details locked tighter than a Cowboys playbook in December.

The Cowboys had a chance to sign Derrick Henry last year but passed, only to watch him shine with the Baltimore Ravens. Ouch. This time around, Dallas has added linebacker Kenneth Murray, running backs Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders, cornerback Kaiir Elam, and defensive lineman Solomon Thomas. They even traded for quarterback Joe Milton from the Patriots—because apparently, you can never have too many QBs in Texas.

Despite all these moves, it’s still a mystery how much real buzz these deals are creating. Fans are definitely hoping for something that packs more punch than just filling gaps on the roster.

Meanwhile, contract talks with star linebacker Micah Parsons are ongoing. Executive Stephen Jones offered a peek behind the curtain, saying, "Believe me, if we could sign Micah to a number we wanted to sign him to, we'd do it right now. But right now there's a difference in what we feel like is the right number and what he feels like is the right number." Classic negotiation limbo—if only salary caps were as flexible as Jerry’s optimism.

Parsons, to his credit, is already grinding away in the Cowboys’ voluntary offseason program. He recently said at a charity event that getting an early start might just help Dallas get a jump in the regular season. After last year’s 7-10 finish, the bar isn’t exactly set high, but hey, hope springs eternal in football—and especially in Texas.
