Brief

Jillian Michaels criticizes U.S. involvement in Ukraine, questions financial motives, and discusses global conflicts, GOP evolution, and health issues in a podcast with Sean Hannity.

Fitness celebrity Jillian Michaels has stepped into the political ring, questioning America’s financial involvement in the ongoing war in Ukraine. In a recent podcast chat with Sean Hannity, Michaels didn’t shy away from expressing her skepticism: "What are we doing there?" she asked bluntly, adding, "We don’t [benefit], but who does? The Dick Cheneys of the world. The Larry Finks of the world." It seems Michaels has a knack for pointing fingers.

Her remarks come on the heels of a chaotic Oval Office meeting between former President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that ended in a shouting match and the abrupt cancellation of a minerals deal signing ceremony. Trump responded by halting military aid to Ukraine, signaling his dissatisfaction with Zelenskyy’s approach to peace negotiations. A senior Trump official later confirmed that aid would remain frozen until Ukraine demonstrated commitment to good-faith diplomacy.

While Michaels condemns Russian President Vladimir Putin for initiating the conflict with his February 2022 invasion, she criticized the U.S. for its selective involvement in global crises, pointing to regions like South Sudan, Armenia, and Venezuela as examples of America’s inaction. "Who's getting rich off of this?" she asked, making it clear she suspects financial motives are at play in Ukraine.

During the podcast, Michaels also didn’t hold back on her views of the GOP and its evolution over the years. Reflecting on the Iraq War era, she branded former Vice President Dick Cheney as "a war criminal" and even "the devil." According to Michaels, the Republican Party, once home to neoconservative warmongers, now seems to favor peace, while Democrats have flipped the script.

Her conversation with Hannity ranged from foreign policy to health and fitness. Michaels shared her perspective on U.S. support for Israel, which she backs, as well as her disdain for "Big Pharma" and the chemical-laden processed foods she believes are crippling America’s health. She also opened up about her own struggles with weight, offering advice on leading a healthier life.

Jillian Michaels is really out here trading dumbbells for debate podiums. While her insights on the financial motives behind wars are worth pondering, calling someone 'the devil' might be a bit much—even for political discourse. Still, her knack for connecting global politics with personal health is an unexpected twist that keeps her commentary intriguing. Who knew the 'Biggest Loser' trainer had geopolitical hot takes?
