Joe Rogan criticizes Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Democrats for their failed attempts to appeal to young male voters, mocking claims about masculinity and truck-fixing skills.

Podcaster Joe Rogan didn’t hold back on Friday, taking jabs at Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and the Democratic Party over their inability to connect with young male voters. Rogan’s commentary came after Walz appeared on California Governor Gavin Newsom’s podcast, "This is Gavin Newsom," earlier this week to discuss the Democrats’ struggles to appeal to this elusive demographic.

During the podcast, Walz made a bold claim that his ability to "fix a truck" somehow made him a threat to Republicans. "I think I scare them a little bit, [which is] why they spend so much time on me," Walz said, adding that his hands-on skills made him authentic. Newsom laughed, but Walz doubled down. "No, I’m serious, because I can fix a truck, they know I’m not bulls----ing on this," he emphasized.

Rogan, never one to shy away from sarcasm, tore into Walz’s claim with his signature irreverence. "They're scared of him because he can fix a truck?" Rogan mocked, visibly baffled. "Do you? I bet you don't! I bet if I bring a broken truck to you, and a bag of tools, you're f---ed!"

Podcaster Chris Williamson joined Rogan in poking fun at the Democrats’ attempts to tap into masculinity through Walz. "Yeah, it’s so crazy," Rogan agreed. "I think they're lost. They can't control the narrative anymore."

Rogan went further, pointing out how liberal commentators have essentially coded many traditionally masculine hobbies and interests—like physical fitness and fast cars—as "right-wing." "Anything masculine is ‘right-wing,’" Rogan said, criticizing the messaging. He even joked that liking Teslas, despite being eco-friendly, could now earn someone accusations of misogyny or racism. "You're a misogynist, you're probably racist, maybe a Nazi," he quipped.

Clearly, the Democratic Party has some soul-searching to do when it comes to reaching male voters. But if their strategy hinges on truck-fixing bravado, Rogan’s biting humor suggests they might need to head back to the drawing board.

Walz’s confidence in his truck-fixing prowess as a political strategy is both amusing and baffling. If this is the Democrats’ plan to woo young men, Rogan’s mockery might actually do them a favor by exposing how out-of-touch it sounds. Masculinity isn’t exactly a political platform, but hey, maybe the Democrats are rolling the dice on this one.
