Justin Baldoni accuses Ryan Reynolds of being Blake Lively's co-conspirator in a $400 million defamation lawsuit, alleging a smear campaign and heated legal exchanges over 'It Ends With Us.'
In a legal drama that could rival the twists of a Hollywood script, Justin Baldoni has accused Ryan Reynolds of being Blake Lively's "co-conspirator" in a $400 million defamation lawsuit. Baldoni's legal team filed a motion on Tuesday requesting the court to deny Reynolds' attempt to dismiss himself from the case.
According to Baldoni's lawyers, Reynolds cannot escape liability by posing as a "supportive spouse." The filing alleges that Reynolds played an active role in defamatory actions against Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios. Baldoni accuses Reynolds of making statements to their talent agency, WME, labeling Baldoni as a "sexual predator." The filing claims these remarks were specific, identifying the speaker, listeners, and even the timing of the statements.
The lawsuit also took aim at Reynolds' attempt to recover attorney fees under Anti-SLAPP laws, which protect against meritless lawsuits. Baldoni's team argued that these laws were irrelevant here, calling Reynolds' motion "frivolous" and demanding its rejection.
Meanwhile, Reynolds' spokesperson fired back, suggesting Baldoni's claims were fundamentally flawed. "They once again claim defamation without alleging who was defamed, what specifically was said, or how anyone suffered actual harm," the spokesperson said. Adding a touch of shade, the statement compared Baldoni's public persona—"pretending to be a man who listens to women"—to Reynolds, who is described as genuinely supportive of his wife.
The animosity began with Blake Lively's lawsuit against Baldoni last December, where she accused him of sexual harassment and retaliation related to their work on "It Ends With Us." Baldoni responded by filing his own defamation suit against Lively and Reynolds, alleging they orchestrated a smear campaign to hijack the narrative surrounding the film.
But it doesn't stop there. Baldoni's team has released unedited footage from the set of "It Ends With Us," claiming it supports their case. Lively's camp, however, insists the footage bolsters her claims instead. A website detailing the timeline of events has also been launched, adding even more fuel to the fire.
As this legal saga unfolds, both sides have filed motions to dismiss lawsuits against them, leaving the court—and the public—to untangle the layers of accusations. If nothing else, this feud is proving to be as dramatic off-screen as any movie these stars have appeared in.

Talk about drama that keeps Hollywood buzzing! Reynolds' alleged 'predator' comment to WME executives is a bombshell claim, but Baldoni's use of Reynolds' jokey 'drink their blood' remark from Deadpool promo events? That feels like a stretch. If Reynolds truly said what Baldoni's lawsuit alleges, things could get ugly fast. Still, the back-and-forth finger-pointing makes me wonder if this is less about justice and more about keeping the spotlight on—and the popcorn ready.
