Brief

Kai Trump shares how golf and sports strengthen her bond with grandfather Donald Trump, from the course to UFC arenas and beyond.

Kai Trump, the 18-year-old granddaughter of President Donald Trump, has a bond with her grandfather that goes beyond family ties—it’s forged on the fairways of the golf course. From the tender age of 2, Kai has been swinging clubs, a passion nurtured by the 47th president, who’s no stranger to the greens himself. Now set to play golf at the University of Miami in 2026, Kai recently opened up about how sports, especially golf, have become a cornerstone of their relationship.

A Shared Love for Golf
Kai credits her grandfather with shaping her journey in golf, from choosing colleges to honing her skills on some of the finest courses. 'He’s influenced me a lot with golf,' she shared, noting how thrilled he was about her decision to attend Miami, conveniently close to Trump Doral. Over the years, they’ve spent countless hours together on courses run by Trump Golf, giving Kai access to resources she acknowledges not every aspiring golfer gets. 'I’m very lucky and thankful for all the opportunities I had growing up,' she said.

Beyond the Golf Course
But it’s not just about golf. The Trump family’s love for sports spans a wide arena—literally. Kai joined her grandfather at UFC 314 in Miami, walking into the Kaseya Center to an electrifying crowd. 'I don’t think I’ve ever heard such a loud arena,' she recalled, marveling at the support for her grandfather. They also share a fondness for tennis, often watching major tournaments like Wimbledon together. Kai’s early years were split between tennis and golf, starting both at age 2, making these shared moments on the couch as meaningful as those on the course.

Stepping into the Spotlight
As a modern college athlete, Kai is also making waves off the course. She’s inked an NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) deal with Accelerator Active Energy, becoming their first golf NIL partner and even an equity partner alongside stars like Livvy Dunne and Travis Kelce. Announcing the partnership in a presidential-themed video, Kai expressed excitement about aligning with such iconic athletes. It’s a testament to her growing brand, fueled by her social media presence and content creation.

Through swings, serves, and roaring crowds, Kai Trump’s relationship with her grandfather proves that sports can be more than a game—it’s a legacy.

Editor's Comments

Well, folks, it seems the Trump family swings more than just political punches—those golf clubs are getting a workout! Kai and her grandfather bonding over birdies and bogeys is heartwarming, but let’s be honest, if I had access to Trump Golf courses at age 2, I’d probably be challenging Tiger Woods by now. And that UFC entrance? Talk about a knockout family moment—Miami’s crowd roared louder than a jet engine. Here’s hoping their next tennis match doesn’t turn into a ‘Wimbledon wallop’ over who gets the last popcorn!
