The New Orleans Saints took a pass on drafting a quarterback in the first round of the NFL Draft and instead went with offensive lineman Kelvin Banks Jr. out of Texas.

Emotions ran high as Banks celebrated with his family, slipping on a Saints hat and realizing his NFL dreams right there on live TV. But as everyone cheered, the moment was hilariously upstaged by Banks’ young son, who, sitting on his mom’s lap, perfectly timed a spit-up that quickly went viral. If there were an award for ‘Most Relatable Draft Reaction,’ this kid just won it by a landslide.

Banks and his partner, Demetria, shared their baby news back in November, and now the young family is gearing up for a new adventure in New Orleans. Maybe Kelvin’s going to need those quick reflexes both on and off the field.

Saints fans have been hoping for stronger protection up front, especially after the team’s offense struggled and injuries piled up in recent seasons. The Saints started 2024 with big wins over the Panthers and Cowboys, only to hit a rough patch with seven straight losses that ultimately led to Dennis Allen's firing.

Now, with Kellen Moore coming in as head coach after his Super Bowl-winning stint with the Eagles, New Orleans is hoping this new lineup, anchored by Banks, will help turn things around. If Banks can protect the quarterback as well as his son can steal the spotlight, Saints fans might finally have something to cheer about.

Honestly, between the Saints' offensive line woes and baby Banks’ on-cue spit-up, I can’t decide which needs more protection—New Orleans’ quarterbacks or their dress shirts. Maybe the Saints should draft a few more bibs just in case.
