John Kerry admits Trump was right on border security, says Democrats failed on immigration, as border apprehensions hit record lows.

In a candid moment on BBC's "Reflections" podcast, John Kerry, former Biden climate czar and Obama Secretary of State, conceded that Donald Trump was spot-on about the U.S. border crisis. "Without a protected border, you don’t have a nation," Kerry declared, echoing a sentiment long championed by Trump. He admitted Democrats, including himself, dropped the ball on immigration, allowing the border to remain "under siege."

Kerry revealed he had urged President Joe Biden to take a tougher stance, wishing Biden had more forcefully vowed to "enforce the law." Reflecting on Biden’s tenure, Kerry called him a "great president" who hasn’t gotten enough credit, though he hinted Biden’s late decision to step aside from re-election could’ve smoothed the Democratic path.

The numbers tell a stark story. Under Trump’s renewed crackdown, border apprehensions plummeted to 5,414 between June 1 and June 22, with just 986 known "gotaways"—record lows, per U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Compare that to May’s 9,000 apprehensions, a fraction of the 118,000 recorded a year earlier under Biden.

Kerry also noted Democrats backed an immigration bill that Trump and some Republicans shot down, highlighting the political divide. Yet, his admission underscores a rare bipartisan truth: the border matters, and ignoring it comes at a cost.

Kerry’s border epiphany is like a weatherman admitting the storm’s here—after the flood. Why’d it take a Trump rerun for Dems to see the fence? Here’s a joke: Kerry walks into a border checkpoint and says, ‘I’m with Trump!’ The guard replies, ‘Sir, the climate’s secure, but your timing’s a hot mess.’
