Kevin Sorbo, Hollywood's early cancel culture victim, sees industry shifting under Trump, embracing conservative values and faith-based films.

Kevin Sorbo, once a household name as Hercules in the hit series "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys," claims to be Hollywood's original cancel culture casualty. Over a decade ago, the 66-year-old actor was sidelined by the industry for expressing his conservative and Christian views online, a move he describes as being treated like "kryptonite" in Tinseltown.

In a recent candid conversation, Sorbo shared his optimism about a cultural shift in Hollywood. With a new political climate under President Trump, he senses a growing openness to conservative values and faith-based narratives. Studios, he notes, are weary of financial losses from projects that alienate large swaths of their audience. "They're tired of losing millions on woke content," Sorbo remarked, pointing to upcoming Disney releases as examples of missteps.

Refusing to be silenced, Sorbo and his wife launched Sorbo Studios, producing at least four films annually. Now, major players like Netflix and Amazon are reaching out, intrigued by his scripts that weave subtle positive messages rather than overt preaching. "We're at a tipping point," he believes, as the pendulum of public sentiment swings back toward traditional storytelling.

Sorbo's 2010 film "What If…" is set for a 15th-anniversary re-release on August 5 and 7, featuring a story of hope and redemption—qualities he feels Hollywood has abandoned. Starring alongside Kristy Swanson, John Ratzenberger, and Debby Ryan, Sorbo plays a businessman forced to confront the life he could have had. With exclusive bonus content and a cast reunion, the re-release aims to remind audiences of cinema's power to inspire.

As Hollywood grapples with its identity, Sorbo sees this moment as a return to narratives of love, laughter, and faith. Whether this shift holds, only time—and ticket sales—will tell.

Hollywood playing nice with conservative values? That’s a plot twist even Hercules couldn’t have muscled through! Sorbo’s return feels like a sequel nobody saw coming—will Tinseltown finally embrace the ‘right’ kind of drama, or is this just a cameo before the credits roll?
