Lainey Wilson Spills Details of Intimate Proposal, Eyes 'Very Simple' Wedding

Lainey Wilson, the reigning queen of country music, has shared the sweet and surprising story of how her fiancé, former NFL quarterback Devlin "Duck" Hodges, popped the big question. Hodges proposed back in February, and Wilson, still glowing from the moment, revealed that it was a day full of twists, emotions, and, yes, candles.

Months before the proposal, Wilson had joked about possibly needing to propose herself. She even sent Hodges engagement ring options as a joke four years ago. "We knew pretty much immediately," she said about their relationship, adding that Hodges later designed a custom ring inspired by her early suggestions. "I’d have said yes if it was a tiny little thing. But he messed up," she joked, referencing the stunning piece he ultimately presented.

Hodges, who now works in real estate, seems to be Wilson's biggest cheerleader. She described him as someone who will "high-five you on the way in the door and high-five you on the way out."
