Among the nearly 1.6 million surgical interventions, liposuction has edged out breast augmentation as the top choice, reflecting a cultural shift toward sculpted, natural-looking bodies.

Body contouring procedures, like thigh and buttock lifts, jumped by 3%, while arm and neck lifts saw a 2% rise. Surgeons attribute this trend to the growing use of GLP-1 weight-loss drugs like Ozempic, which often leave patients with loose skin, prompting surgical fixes. Meanwhile, minimally invasive treatments dominated with a staggering 28.5 million procedures, led by hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers praised for their subtle, effective results. “When done right, fillers are like a good joke—nobody notices the setup, but everyone loves the punchline,” quipped one expert.

The report also highlights the role of GLP-1 medications, with over 837,000 prescriptions written by plastic surgeons last year.
