Martha Stewart hilariously roasts Katy Perry’s brief Blue Origin space flight, joining other celebrities in mocking the mission’s high cost and viral social media buzz.

Martha Stewart is proving once again that her kitchen knives aren't the only things sharp about her. The 83-year-old lifestyle legend has joined the chorus of celebrities ribbing Katy Perry after the singer’s recent jaunt to the edge of space aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard — a flight that lasted a grand total of 11 minutes but has managed to stir up a full-on social media roast session.

Perry, 40, blasted off as part of an all-female crew, joining journalist Lauren Sanchez, TV’s Gayle King, producer Kerianne Flynn, ex-NASA scientist Aisha Bowe, and activist Amanda Nguyen. While the mission was hailed as empowering, many seemed more transfixed by the flight’s eye-popping price tag and blink-and-you-miss-it duration. Blue Origin keeps the exact cost hush-hush, but the deposit alone is $150,000, and the first seat went for a cool $28 million back in the day. For what amounts to the world’s priciest elevator ride, it’s no wonder people are talking.

Enter Martha, who posted a throwback clip from her 2007 TV show, floating weightless in a Boeing 727 G-Force One airplane, cheekily declaring she’d already "experienced what astronauts feel when they reach zero gravity." If that wasn’t enough, she quoted Perry’s own hit "Firework," writing, "Do you ever feel like a plastic bag drifting through the wind?" above the video. A+ for shade and pop culture recall.

Stewart’s Instagram caption hammered it home: "In case you spaced out in 2007, Martha has always been ahead of her time." Fans immediately piled on with comments like "The drag we needed!" and "Expert trolling." And honestly, Martha’s ability to meme herself is almost as iconic as her tablescapes.

The rest of the celeb world wasn’t far behind. Olivia Wilde retweeted a meme comparing Perry’s landing to deplaning after a rough commercial flight, quipping, "Billion dollars bought some good memes I guess." Amy Schumer joked she’d been added to the crew last minute, and Emily Ratajkowski went full doomsday on TikTok, calling the whole thing "beyond parody" and pointing out the environmental irony of a space joyride by a company "single-handedly destroying the planet."

Even Olivia Munn weighed in, branding the mission "gluttonous" on TV and asking, "What’s the point? Is it historic that you guys are going on a ride?" Meanwhile, Kesha and even the Wendy’s Twitter account jumped into the meme-making fray — with Wendy’s suggesting, "Can we send her back?" Yikes. When fast food gets involved, you know it’s viral.

For all the snark, the crew did try to defend the mission. Gayle King argued the critics "don’t really understand what is happening here," emphasizing the inspiration the flight may offer to young women. Sanchez, visibly fired up, invited doubters to visit Blue Origin’s hard-working team to see the bigger picture. "Trust me. Come with me. I’ll show you what this is about, and it’s really eye-opening," she insisted.

Still, with so many stars taking a swipe, it’s clear Katy Perry’s trip made a bigger impact on Instagram than it did in orbit. Who knew the ultimate gravity wasn’t in space, but in Martha’s Instagram feed?

Honestly, Martha Stewart trolling the Blue Origin flight by quoting 'Firework' is the kind of crossover I didn’t know I needed. For a trip that cost a fortune and lasted about as long as it takes to microwave popcorn, the memes might just be the most valuable payload. When even Wendy’s is in on the dragging, you know your PR’s entered a new orbit.
