Justine Bateman criticizes Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's public image, claiming their 'victimhood' narrative and Netflix series have failed to resonate with audiences.

Justine Bateman, the actress best known for her role in "Family Ties," has taken aim at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, accusing them of an "aggressive Victim Olympics campaign." Her remarks come in light of Markle's new Netflix series, "With Love, Meghan," which has reportedly struggled to capture significant audience interest. Bateman has been vocal about why she believes the series—and the couple’s public image—aren’t resonating with viewers.

In a blog post titled "The Problem With Meghan Markle: It’s Not What She’s Doing, It’s the Victim Olympics Road She Took to Get There," Bateman argued that audiences are tired of what she perceives as unearned narratives of victimhood. According to Bateman, "The problem with Meghan Markle (and her husband, Harry) is that every opportunity they have explored or exploited over the past few years has been due to their very aggressive Victim Olympics campaign." She went further to claim that the public's interest in such narratives has diminished, stating, "It’s 2025, and no one wants to see victims anymore."

The actress also criticized the couple for what she sees as contradictory behavior, saying, "The public doesn’t want to listen to people who bemoaned their lack of privacy, and yet take every opportunity to be extremely public with whatever they’re doing." She added that the era of victimhood has "fallen far out of favor," and people now demand authenticity and earned achievements.

This isn’t the first time Bateman has shared her opinions about Meghan and Harry. During the Los Angeles fires earlier this year, she labeled the couple as "disaster tourists" after they were seen visiting affected areas alongside Pasadena's mayor. Bateman even called their actions "repulsive 'photo ops'" in a post on the social platform X, formerly known as Twitter. Despite her sharp criticisms, Bateman did acknowledge that she doesn’t believe anyone wishes ill upon Markle, but emphasized that people have the right not to "go along with another’s ‘narrative’ anymore."

Interestingly, reports later revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had opened their home to evacuees during the fires, donating essentials to support the affected community. However, these charitable efforts apparently failed to sway Bateman’s opinion.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for comment, but no response was provided at the time of publication.

Justine Bateman certainly doesn’t hold back, does she? While her critique of the so-called 'Victim Olympics' might strike a chord with those tired of celebrity melodrama, it’s worth noting that Harry and Meghan have been actively involved in charitable efforts. The irony here feels like a tug-of-war between public perception and private actions. Also, calling them 'disaster tourists'—ouch! That’s a verbal blow you don’t recover from easily.
