Michigan State Spartans guard Tre Holloman just gave everyone a serious sneak peek at the madness March is about to bring. Can you believe that shot?
The No. 8 team in the nation was neck and neck with the No. 16 Maryland Terrapins. The two Big Ten Conference teams were deadlocked at 55. Terrapins guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie missed a shot, and the Spartans grabbed the rebound.
Holloman got the ball and, without hesitation, launched it from about 65 feet. Swish! The Spartans went wild, while the crowd in College Park, Maryland, went completely silent. I bet you could hear a pin drop.
Michigan State clinched the game, 58-55.
Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo mentioned that the team practices half-court shots the night before every game. "The last two games, Tre has made two of them. He’s made one (before) each game," Izzo said. "I thought that thing was in when it left. I really did."
Izzo also felt his team "deserved to win the game."
Fans were, understandably, ecstatic.
Holloman, who scored nine points, echoed Izzo’s confidence, saying he knew the shot was good. "We practice those," he said. Clearly!
Jase Richardson topped the Spartans with 15 points, while Rodney Rice led Maryland with 20 points.

Talk about a buzzer-beater! This shot isn't just luck; it's the kind of thing that comes from dedication and practice. Holloman's got ice in his veins, and I'm here for it!
