Brett Ryan Gosselin, aka BRG, leaves his 'Barbie' image behind to compete with the Rogue Horsemen at MLW's Battle Riot VII, aiming for the heavyweight championship.
Brett Ryan Gosselin, better known as BRG, has transformed from a flashy up-and-comer with a striking resemblance to Ryan Gosling’s Ken in "Barbie" into a tough contender in Major League Wrestling (MLW). Now part of the Rogue Horsemen alongside Bobby Fish, C.J., and Brock Anderson, Gosselin is gearing up for Battle Riot VII, where the MLW World Heavyweight Championship is at stake.
Last year, Gosselin competed solo in the 40-man match but fell short. "Last year was a little different," he told Fox News Digital. "I was running up by myself—pretty much a one-man show. This year, I have C.W. Anderson, Brock Anderson, and Bobby Fish by my side. Months of strategy planning have gone into this year's Battle Riot."
BRG has made it clear that 2025 is his year to shine. "When it comes to gold, I’ve always been the guy searching for it. This year, the Rogue Horsemen are aiming to become a championship franchise, and winning the MLW title is the first step." The stakes are high as Battle Riot VII marks its Los Angeles County debut at Thunder Studios Arena in Long Beach, California.
The "Barbie" comparisons, once a fun gimmick, are firmly behind him. "People might think Brett Ryan Gosselin is a stage name, but it’s my real name," he explained. "What you see on TV is just naturally me. My dad always said, ‘It doesn’t matter how you win as long as you win.’ History remembers winners, and that’s my focus." While he once leaned into the "Barbie" hype, the wrestler now says he’s surpassed Ryan Gosling’s popularity from the movie. Bold claim, but hey, confidence is half the battle in pro wrestling.
Gosselin will be one of 40 competitors vying for championship gold, joining big names like current champion Matt Riddle, Bishop Dyer, Donovan Dijak, Tom Lawlor, Jesus Rodriguez, and Anthony Green. The action kicks off Saturday at 10 p.m. ET.

BRG’s confidence is so thick you could cut it with a chair shot. While it’s entertaining to hear him claim he’s outshone Ryan Gosling, let’s not forget he’s stepping into the ring against some serious heavyweights. Riddle’s title defense and the stacked roster make this Battle Riot a must-watch. Also, I’ll admit—the Rogue Horsemen sounds like a cool squad name. Let’s see if they ride away with the gold or just saddle up for another year of chasing it.
