Brief

Elon Musk and Adam Schiff briefly align against the Big Beautiful Bill, sparking a feud with Trump. Political drama unfolds with sharp critiques and deleted posts.

In a twist that could only happen in today’s political circus, Elon Musk and Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., briefly found themselves on the same side of the fence, both slamming the so-called Big Beautiful Bill. But don’t expect them to start exchanging Christmas cards anytime soon. Schiff, in a rare moment of agreement, posted on X, "I can’t believe I’m saying this – but Elon Musk is right." Musk, never one to miss a beat, fired back with a quip: "Hmm, few things could convince me to reconsider my position more than Adam Schiff agreeing with me!"

The bill, a bloated beast stuffed with what both call excessive pork, has Musk and Schiff at odds with its supporters for wildly different reasons. Musk sees it as a government spending spree gone wild, while Schiff decries its "far-right" provisions as dangerous. Meanwhile, the bill’s passage through the House sparked a firestorm, with Musk calling it a "disgusting abomination" and shaming lawmakers who backed it.

The drama didn’t stop there. Musk’s exit from his advisory role in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under President Donald Trump was all smiles and symbolic White House keys—until it wasn’t. Their once-cordial relationship imploded as Musk’s public attacks on the bill clashed with Trump’s agenda. The two traded barbs across X and Truth Social, with Trump telling reporters he’s "very disappointed" in Musk, claiming the Tesla titan knew the bill’s contents. Musk, naturally, denied it.

The feud hit fever pitch with Musk’s now-deleted X posts, one tying Trump to Jeffrey Epstein’s files and another endorsing a call for Trump’s impeachment in favor of Vice President J.D. Vance. Trump, not one to hold back, told Fox News’ Bret Baier that Musk has "totally lost it" and he’s done talking to him. Some Republicans, like Sens. Mike Lee and Rand Paul, nodded along with Musk’s critiques, while House Speaker Mike Johnson expressed surprise at the tech mogul’s vitriol, insisting they’d had a "good discussion."

As the dust settles, reconciliation seems as likely as a quiet day on X. For now, Musk and Trump’s bromance is on ice, and the Big Beautiful Bill remains a lightning rod for division.

Musk and Schiff agreeing? It’s like watching a Tesla and a Prius share a charging station—awkward and bound to short-circuit. Meanwhile, Trump and Musk’s breakup is messier than a reality TV divorce. Who needs Epstein files when X is this explosive?
