Netanyahu slams UK, France, and Canada for 'enabling Hamas' with Gaza ceasefire calls, tying their stance to rising antisemitism and embassy murders.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu unleashed a scathing rebuke of U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, accusing them of inadvertently bolstering Hamas. The criticism follows a joint statement from the three nations urging Israel to halt its military operations in Gaza, a move Netanyahu claims hands a victory to the terror group.
In a fiery video address on Thursday, Netanyahu argued that Hamas seeks not a Palestinian state but the annihilation of Israel. He questioned how leaders of such prominent nations could miss this "glaring truth." "For 18 years, Gaza was a de facto Palestinian state," he said, "and what did we get? The most brutal massacre of Jews since the Holocaust." His words underscored the deep frustration in Israel over international calls for a ceasefire, which he believes emboldens Hamas’ resolve.
Hamas, in turn, praised the U.K., France, and Canada for opposing Israel’s policies, calling their stance a rejection of "siege and starvation" tactics. The group urged other nations to follow suit, escalating tensions further. Netanyahu didn’t mince words, declaring, "When mass murderers and rapists thank you, you’re on the wrong side of justice, humanity, and history."
The Israeli leader also tied his remarks to the tragic murder of two Israeli embassy staffers, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, gunned down outside Washington, D.C.’s Capital Jewish Museum. "They were targeted simply for being Jewish," Netanyahu said, framing the attack as part of a broader wave of antisemitism. The couple, who met at the embassy and planned to marry, were mourned as symbols of the human cost of such violence.
While Starmer condemned the D.C. attack as an "antisemitic evil," his office sidestepped Netanyahu’s broader accusations. Responses from Macron and Carney remain pending, leaving the diplomatic rift in sharp focus. As global pressure mounts, Netanyahu’s defiance signals a deeper struggle over how the world confronts terrorism and peace.

Netanyahu’s throwing diplomatic haymakers, but when Hamas sends thank-you notes to world leaders, it’s like getting a gold star from the villain in a bad spy flick. The real tragedy? Yaron and Sarah, two lovers gunned down in D.C., caught in a hate that’s older than their romance. Meanwhile, global ceasefire calls feel like trying to referee a boxing match with one fighter swinging blindfolded.
