Christina Fulton has dropped her lawsuit against Nicolas Cage, which accused him of enabling their son's violent behavior. The court dismissed the claims with prejudice.
Nicolas Cage’s ex-partner, Christina Fulton, has officially dropped her lawsuit against the "National Treasure" actor, which accused him of enabling their son’s alleged violent behavior, according to recent court documents.
Fulton, who dated Cage from 1988 to 1991, had previously sued both their son, Weston Coppola Cage, and the 61-year-old star. She alleged that Cage ignored Weston’s mental health issues and contributed to his troubling behavior. The lawsuit described Weston as having a "long history of mental and psychological disorders" and claimed Cage failed to prevent his son’s violent actions.
On Tuesday, the court granted the dismissal with prejudice, meaning the claims cannot be refiled, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
Cage’s attorneys swiftly dismissed the allegations as "absurd and frivolous," emphasizing that Weston is a grown man and Cage has no control over his actions. Meanwhile, Weston’s attorney argued that the incident with Fulton was caused by her actions, not Cage’s.
The legal drama stems from an altercation between Fulton and Weston in April 2024 at her Los Angeles home, which allegedly escalated into a physical confrontation. Weston later turned himself in on a felony assault charge in July 2024 and was released on bond. Fulton claimed she was "brutally assaulted" during the incident and expressed that her son urgently needs professional help.
Adding fuel to the fire, Fulton accused Cage of enabling their son by bailing him out of jail multiple times and drinking with him. However, Weston’s representatives countered that Fulton’s decision to change Weston’s medical treatment led to the emotional breakdown behind the altercation.
The request to dismiss the claims against Cage was filed on March 7, specifying that it applied only to Cage and not to other defendants involved in the case.
As the dust settles, one thing becomes clear: this family drama has been playing out like a Hollywood script, complete with accusations, counterarguments, and a dash of public spectacle.

For a man who's spent decades entertaining us with wild cinematic adventures, Nicolas Cage seems to attract equally chaotic real-life drama. The lawsuit dismissal is a relief for Cage, but the allegations about enabling his son’s behavior still paint a messy picture of a strained family dynamic. Honestly, the whole thing feels like a plot twist ripped straight from one of his movies!
