Nikki Haley Urges U.S. to Take Clear Stand on Russia-Ukraine War: ‘Be on the Right Side of History’

Nikki Haley, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and previous GOP presidential hopeful, isn’t mincing words when it comes to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. In a recent post on X, Haley asserted that America should "want to be on the right side of history," warning that "rewarding an aggressor will only lead to more aggressive actions." She emphasized the dangers of failing to back democracies under attack, adding that punishing Ukraine for defending itself would be a "terrible injustice."
Haley doubled down on her stance, pointing out that "Russia started this war and has been the aggressor and violator in the conflict. Ukraine deserves the right to defend itself." Strong words, but honestly, nothing about this situation has been subtle from day one.
For those keeping score, Haley was South Carolina's governor and made a run for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, ultimately dropping out and endorsing Donald Trump. Trump, meanwhile, has been promoting his own strategy for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, even suggesting on Truth Social that a deal could be struck soon and that both countries could end up doing "big business" with the U.S. afterward. If only international diplomacy paid like Wall Street, right?
On Capitol Hill, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania recently visited Ukraine and delivered what he described as a "very 'personal' message" to Vladimir Putin from the front lines near the Russian border. The details are hush-hush, but Fitzpatrick assured the public that "the message was delivered on target." He also met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his trip.
Elsewhere in this high-stakes drama, Putin announced a temporary ceasefire for Easter in Ukraine, though history has shown these pauses can be as fleeting as a spring shower.

Nikki Haley calling for the U.S. to be on the right side of history is a classic. If only world history came with a spoiler alert, maybe we’d all know which side that is! And as for Rep. Fitzpatrick’s 'personal message' to Putin, can we get a Netflix special on mysterious diplomatic messages next? The suspense is killing me.
