Pierce Brosnan opens up about his lasting marriage with Keely Smith, their love story, family life, and his contrasting new role in the series 'MobLand.'
Pierce Brosnan, the man we all remember as James Bond, is proving that Hollywood fairy tales can last longer than the runtime of a blockbuster. The legendary actor is still head-over-heels for his wife of nearly 24 years, Keely Smith, and their marriage seems to defy the often doomed odds of Tinseltown.
Before the release of his latest series, "MobLand," Brosnan shared with Fox News Digital how his enduring relationship with Keely continues to thrive. In the series, Brosnan plays a womanizer—a character so far removed from his own reality, it might as well reside in another galaxy.
"Keely and I, it'll be 31 years here soon," Brosnan said. "And it's all gone by in the blink of an eye, the speed of a flame. We like each other, and we have wonderful sons, and we have a creative life. It's always about solving problems and how you deal with the stresses and strains of life." Honestly, it sounds like he should write a marriage guide while he's at it.
After three decades together, Keely still makes Brosnan's "world turn" and his "heart sing." He confessed, "She allows me to go out into the world and create what I do as an actor, and that takes strength and stamina. We just enjoy each other's company." Now, if only Hollywood handed out Oscars for relationship goals.
Their love story began in 1994 during a serendipitous encounter in Mexico, and they tied the knot in Ireland in August 2001. Together, they’ve raised two sons, Dylan and Paris. Brosnan also has three children from his first marriage to Cassandra Harris, who tragically passed away from ovarian cancer in 1991. His daughter Charlotte later succumbed to the same illness in 2013. Despite these heartbreaks, Brosnan has managed to hold onto hope, love, and resilience—a testament to his character.
On March 31, at the premiere of "MobLand," Brosnan and Keely reunited after not seeing each other for three months due to filming commitments. "It is date night with Keely," Brosnan shared. "We saw each other just the night before last." The couple dazzled on the red carpet in New York City, with Keely rocking a chic black lace dress and Brosnan donning a sharp navy suit.
In "MobLand," Brosnan's Irish character brought some amusing moments at home. "I think she liked it really. I think I surprised her with it," Brosnan joked about practicing the accent around Keely. Though his character is described as "psychopathic and dangerous," Brosnan found the role easy to embrace thanks to the sharp writing and stellar cast, which includes Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Paddy Considine.
The show, which debuted on Paramount+ on March 30, follows two warring London crime families locked in a brutal battle for power. Caught in the crossfire is Harry Da Souza, a street-smart "fixer" whose loyalty is tested as opposing forces collide.
Despite the dark undertones of the series, Brosnan's real-life story with Keely is a beacon of light in the often tumultuous world of celebrity relationships. Their enduring marriage proves that sometimes, against all odds, love really does conquer all.

Pierce Brosnan's love story is the kind of Hollywood tale that feels refreshingly genuine. While many celebrity marriages crumble under the spotlight, his enduring bond with Keely Smith is a masterclass in keeping romance alive. Also, the fact that he practices his Irish accent at home is adorably quirky—who wouldn’t want to be serenaded with a brogue every now and then?
