Rare 10-carat Marie-Thérèse Pink Diamond, tied to Marie Antoinette, and The Blue Belle necklace headline Christie’s auction, blending royalty and rarity.

A dazzling piece of history is about to take center stage as a rare 10-carat pink diamond, the Marie-Thérèse Pink Diamond, prepares to dazzle New York City. This kite-shaped, fancy purple-pink gem, with roots tracing back to the mid-18th century, carries whispers of royal intrigue, allegedly entrusted by Queen Marie Antoinette to her loyal coiffeur during her dramatic 1791 escape attempt from Paris. Passed down to her only surviving child, Duchess Marie Thérèse de Angoulême, and later noted in Queen Marie Theresa of Bavaria’s will, this jewel has a storied past.

Resurfacing after decades, last seen at a 1996 Geneva auction from a European royal family, the diamond has been reimagined by Parisian jeweler Joel Arthur Rosenthal in a modern setting. Now, it’s poised to fetch between $3,000,000 and $5,000,000 at Christie’s Auction House. Sharing the spotlight is The Blue Belle, a stunning sapphire and diamond necklace boasting 392.52-carat Sri Lankan sapphires, originally intended for Queen Elizabeth at King George VI’s coronation, with an estimated sale of $8,000,000 to $12,000,000.

These treasures, among other magnificent jewels, will be unveiled to the public for free from June 12 to June 16, with the live auction igniting excitement on June 17. History, royalty, and rarity collide in this glittering spectacle!
