Samaritan’s Purse delivers vital relief in Israel’s war zones, providing armored ambulances and trauma centers to communities hit by Hezbollah and Hamas attacks.
In the midst of Israel’s ongoing conflicts on its northern and southern borders, the Christian humanitarian group Samaritan’s Purse is stepping up with vital relief efforts. From armored ambulances to trauma recovery centers, their work is a lifeline for communities battered by violence and fear.
Edward Graham, chief operating officer of Samaritan’s Purse, recently toured the scarred landscapes of Israel’s border regions. In the north, near villages like Arab al-Aramshe, devastated by Hezbollah drone strikes, and in the south, close to the Gaza Strip where Hamas attacks have left deep wounds, Graham witnessed the raw pain of survivors and the resilience of local leaders. "We go where others don’t or won’t," he declared, emphasizing a mission driven by faith and compassion.
In the northern village of Arab al-Aramshe, a deadly drone attack left the community center in ruins and a man dead. Samaritan’s Purse is responding by building a new ambulance station nearby in Shlomi, alongside delivering 42 armored ambulances to Israel’s emergency service, Magen David Adom. These efforts aim to restore a sense of safety, encouraging displaced families—described by local mayor Moshe Davidovitz as "refugees in their own country"—to return home.
Down south, in places like Nir Oz, a kibbutz shattered by Hamas’ brutal October 2024 assault, the devastation is staggering. Houses lie burned, and posters of lost loved ones haunt the streets. Graham, standing amid the rubble, noted the ongoing explosions and the sheer scale of loss—one in four residents here were kidnapped or killed. Yet, the determination to rebuild shines through. Samaritan’s Purse has pledged a community clinic and resilience center to support this recovery.
In the Eshkol region, where 70% of a horrific massacre unfolded, Mayor Michal Uziyahu shared a powerful vision: "Terrorists fear the sound of children laughing in our streets more than tanks." It’s a sentiment of hope echoed by survivors who, despite unimaginable pain, reject hate and yearn for peace. Samaritan’s Purse is also constructing trauma centers for thousands of children and installing bomb shelters across the country to bolster security.
Graham’s message to the world is clear: keep Israel in your thoughts and prayers. Amid the brokenness, the strength of these communities—and the aid reaching them—offers a glimmer of hope for a future defined not by tragedy, but by life.

While Samaritan’s Purse is armoring ambulances and building shelters, you’ve got to wonder if Hezbollah and Hamas are taking notes on how to up their game—maybe they’ll start a crowdfunding campaign for ‘designer drones.’ But seriously, in a land where laughter is the ultimate rebellion, as Mayor Uziyahu pointed out, let’s hope the sound of kids giggling soon drowns out the explosions.
