Sarah Michelle Gellar just dropped a truth bomb about what keeps her marriage to Freddie Prinze Jr. going strong after 22 years. The actress, known for slaying vampires and now, apparently, relationship myths, shared her "simple" secret on a recent talk show appearance.

According to Gellar, the trick is as basic as it gets: separate bathrooms. When asked if it really was that easy, she doubled down—yes, it's that simple. Sometimes, it's not about grand gestures or couples therapy, but just not having to see your partner's toothpaste crimes every morning.

Gellar and Prinze Jr. first crossed paths back in 1997 on the set of "I Know What You Did Last Summer." It wasn’t until 2000 they became a couple, and two years later, they tied the knot in a glitzy ceremony in Mexico. Now, they’re parents to two kids: Charlotte, 15, and Rocky, 12.

Talk show banter quickly turned playful, with Tiffany Haddish joking about the old-school "I Love Lucy" sleeping arrangements—push beds together when you're in the mood, pull them apart when you're not. Gellar admitted she hadn't thought of that, but it sounded like a pretty solid backup plan.

Gellar has championed the separate bathroom strategy before, even suggesting that couples keep a few things to themselves—like shopping credit cards (or, for the guys, gaming cards), so no one has to see the receipts from a late-night video game shopping spree.

Diving deeper, Gellar addressed America's high divorce rate, blaming it on a "disposable society" mentality. She argued that relationships take work, and too many people are ready to trade in their marriage like a broken phone instead of putting in the effort to fix things.

Before they got hitched, Freddie Prinze Jr. even made a million-dollar bet with Howard Stern that their marriage would go the distance—a bet that, 22 years later, looks like a solid win. On their 20th anniversary, Gellar posted a cheeky reminder to Stern on Instagram, writing, "@SternShow, I think you owe us."

Who knew the real secret to Hollywood marriage wasn’t therapy or couples’ retreats, but just not having to witness your spouse’s questionable bathroom habits? If only every relationship came with a second sink and a million-dollar bet with Howard Stern—divorce lawyers might be out of business.
