Scottie Scheffler wins his first PGA Championship, overcoming Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau with an 11-under par finish.
Scottie Scheffler has finally claimed the coveted Wanamaker Trophy, securing his first PGA Championship title on Sunday with a masterful performance that left competitors scrambling. Finishing at 11-under par, Scheffler fended off a spirited challenge from Jon Rahm and held off J.T. Poston and Bryson DeChambeau to cement his place in golf history.
After last year’s dramatic PGA Championship, where Scheffler faced an arrest and jail booking, his triumph this time was nothing short of redemption. Starting five strokes behind leader Jhonattan Vegas, Scheffler’s second-round 68 set the stage for a dominant third round. An eagle on the 14th and seven birdies fueled a stellar 65, vaulting him to the top of the leaderboard.
In the final round, Scheffler’s composure shone through. Despite three bogeys on the front nine, he countered with four birdies, including clutch shots on holes 2, 10, 14, and 15. Rahm, who shot a 67 in the third round, made an early push with three birdies in the first 11 holes but faltered with a bogey on 16 and a double-bogey on 17, handing Scheffler a comfortable lead.
Bryson DeChambeau, Harris English, and Davis Riley tied for second at 6-under par, while J.T. Poston, Jhonattan Vegas, and Taylor Pendrith shared fifth. Last year’s champion, Xander Schauffele, struggled to a tie for 28th.
As Scheffler embraced his wife, Meredith, who beamed with pride, the victory marked a career-defining moment for the golfer who had previously notched four top-five finishes in the major but missed the cut in 2022.

Scheffler’s win was smoother than a putt on a glass-green fairway, but Rahm’s double-bogey on 17? That’s like missing the ball and hitting the fan! Meanwhile, DeChambeau’s second-place tie proves he’s still swinging for the stars, but Scheffler’s the one who landed on the moon.
