Kristin Davis reveals her amusing struggle to end her relationship with Alec Baldwin in 2001, largely due to his stunning Hamptons mansion, on Rob Lowe’s podcast.

Kristin Davis, famously known for her role in "Sex and the City," recently opened up about an unusual dilemma she faced while dating actor Alec Baldwin back in 2001. Turns out, it wasn’t just Baldwin himself who made the relationship hard to let go of—it was his jaw-dropping Hamptons mansion.

Appearing on Rob Lowe’s podcast, "Literally! With Rob Lowe," Davis candidly shared her thoughts. "Alec Baldwin was so rich by the time I dated Alec Baldwin – can I just say that straight out?" she remarked. "One of the best things about Alec Baldwin when I dated him is that he had the most incredible house in Amagansett."

Davis even sought advice from her "Sex and the City" co-star Sarah Jessica Parker, confessing, "I was like, 'Sarah Jessica, I don't know if it's going to work out with Alec, but I just really love that house.'" If you’ve ever fallen for a piece of prime real estate, you’re probably feeling seen right now.

Reflecting on her reasoning at the time, Davis admitted, "Which is literally, like, one of the only times I have felt that way: 'I don't want to break up with this person because I like his house.' It's so embarrassing to say that out loud, but it's true." Honesty is the best policy, right?

The Hamptons property itself is a stunner. Following some personal turbulence for Baldwin, including the tragic "Rust" shooting incident, the home hit the market with its asking price slashed by $10 million at the beginning of 2024. The 10,000-square-foot mansion, boasting seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, was listed for just under $19 million.

Baldwin even appeared in a promotional video to sell the home, recalling his long history with the area. "I've had a home out here on the East End of Long Island since 1982," he shared. "When I was younger, we'd come out here and sleep all morning and lay on the beach all day." Sounds idyllic, doesn’t it?

The conversation on Lowe’s podcast took an unexpected turn when Lowe tried to nudge Davis into revealing the identity of an actor she once lent $5,000 to, only for him to ghost her afterward. Davis clarified, "I so would never have needed to lend Alec $5,000, my God!" She doubled down on her reluctance to name names, describing the individual as "an out-of-work actor" at the time who later found fame. She offered only vague hints, saying, "He’s very hot, I think he still is now, he’s married." The mystery deepens.

Although Davis didn’t spill all the tea, her candid reflections on Baldwin’s house and the quirky struggles of dating in Hollywood make for a story that’s as glamorous as it is relatable. After all, who wouldn’t hesitate to part ways with a partner when their home is straight out of a luxury real estate catalog?
